Oklahoma State Football 2011: Check out the Cowboys' Sleek New Uniforms
The Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the Arizona Wildcats in Thursday college football action. One thing that will be evident from the start will be the new uniforms Oklahoma State will be rocking, making them a class above Arizona in two areas.
The Cowboys revamped their uniforms for the 2011 campaign, and they certainly moved them to the top of the heap as a program with snazzy swagger.
Oklahoma State skirted disaster by employing all of their school's colors and keeping it simple. Simplicity is how you sidestep potential disaster.
We saw a fashion faux pas the size of Maryland when the Terrapins rolled out their Cirque du Soleil uniforms earlier this week.
The Cowboys have averted such a huge gaffe with this collection of jerseys. However, they did manage to put one of the worst combinations together for Thursday's game.
I love the colors, decor and design. I just can't get with the white helmets with the black jerseys. The photo posted is made courtesy of Ryan Sharp who tweeted from the game.
It is a testament to how great the overall uniform selection is for Oklahoma State when this combination hardly warrants the kind of laughter Maryland received last week.
Regardless of the look, Oklahoma State will shine on Thursday. The No. 9 program in the nation toasted Louisiana-Lafayette last week in the season opener.
Brandon Weeden was lights-out as he passed for 388 yards and three touchdowns. Perhaps the Cowboys needed to take a note from a team like Oregon.
I am confident that a sweet style is just what a player needs to take the field with confidence. Teams like Oregon have justified that sentiment for the last few years.
The Ducks have combined an explosive offense with black uniforms that scream domination. Sometimes, it is not enough to win. You have to look good doing it.
The new Oklahoma State uniforms accomplish just that.
