Klitschko vs. Adamek: Live Round-by-Round Updates, Recap
Vitali Klitschko battles Tomasz Adamek on Saturday, Sept. 10
Tomasz Adamek (44-1, 28 KOs) takes on Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO) with the WBC heavyweight title on the line in the biggest boxing match the country of Poland has ever hosted.
Adamek has held titles at both the cruiserweight and light heavyweight divisions previously, but now has his sights on the heavyweight division.
This may be the toughest fight that Klitschko has had in quite some time, and Adamek is ready for the challenge. In a television interview, via Boxing Scene, Adamek spoke about the upcoming fight:
"I am prepared and ready for a serious war. It's going to be a masterful fight. That is my goal. I'm training hard in order to become the world heavyweight champion. Faith is a powerful. thing and I'm going out to that ring on September 10th to defeat Klitschko.
"
On the other side of things, Klitschko believes he will knockout Adamek. Here is what Klitschko had to say to Boxing Scene about the bout:
"Adamek moves around the ring perfectly, and he also has a big fighting heart. He is better than David Haye, and our struggle will certainly be better than my brother Wladimir's clash with the British fighter. I'm bigger, but I have to be faster and have better stamina. However, remember that I am the heavyweight boxer and I hit hard. Adamek says that speed is his advantage. So we'll see in the ring, which of us will be faster.
"
The match takes place at 4:45 p.m. EDT on HBO. Keep it tuned here as Bleacher Report will provide round-by-round updates below.
