NFL Week 1 Odds: 3 Outrageous Lines That Vegas Has Wrong
America is mistaken.
Vegas creates the lines for NFL games based around the action they get from both sides. That’s why the popular teams like the Dallas Cowboys always have more of a favorable line than most QBs. The more bets for one team, the more the line moves.
Week 1 lines have a handful of games that are extremely off due to heavy gambling on one side. When reviewing the odds, make sure you give extra-special consideration to these three spreads.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Philadelphia Eagles -5.5 @ St. Louis Rams
A road team that is incorporating a bevy of new players going on the road for the first time together in a loud dome is favored?
Not only are they favored…but by 5.5 points!
This line is way too high against the Rams, who will be one of the top NFC teams this season. With the additional weapons at QB Sam Bradford’s disposal, they are a favorite to make the playoffs.
They are going to give the “dream team” fits.
Seattle Seahawks +6 @ San Francisco 49ers
Both of these teams are not going to play very well this season. So how in the world do more than three points favor either team?
In the battle of Tarvaris Jackson vs. Alex Smith, nobody wins.
It’s going to be a low-scoring affair that will end up being somewhere in the 17-14 neighborhood.
With the major league issues of both teams involved, a spread should never be as high as six.
New England Patriots -7 @ Miami Dolphins
Anytime you have a divisional game in Week 1, the line should never be greater than five.
The Patriots are a great public team and people assume they are the most prepared team to play well after the extended lockout.
They look at the volatile QB situation in Miami and assume Chad Henne is screwed.
Yet with a great defense and solid special teams, as long as they win the field-position battle, they’ll be fine.
The Pats are overrated and the Dolphins are underrated.
