New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers Will Dominate

The New Orleans Saints take on the Green Bay Packers Thursday. They bring with them a deep roster with many defensive weapons. It will all be wasted by Aaron Rodgers, the best quarterback in the game. 

The Packers meandered in mediocrity for most of last season. Their offensive line had Aaron Rodgers running for safety for far too many snaps than was healthy. 

Still, Rodgers drove the Packers forward, winning ballgames until the team figured it all out. That aha moment took a good club, and made them great. 

Rodgers was able to play with ease and comfort. When that happens, there is nobody better in the game. The Green Bay QB has captured the heart of a Packers nation that had their heart ripped from them by the last guy that delivered a Super Bowl. 

On Thursday, the curtain goes up on the NFL season. The marquee game pits a versatile and deep ranging Saints club against a stout Packers side. 

Green Bay remains unchanged, and that will be the clear advantage on the field Thursday. The Packers didn't need to make any adjustments in the offseason. They hit their apex just as all of their ingenious draft signings hit their prime. 

There is a period for every great team when change would merely serve to take the club back a step. That is where the Packers now sit. 

The precision and authority with which Rodgers delivers the ball is 90 percent god-given talent. The rest is the confidence he has in the staff that he has grown accustomed to. 

The New Orleans Saints may tout some new toys, but the Packers have chemistry. When you mix that with an arm like Rodgers', it is a very deadly combination. 

We are about to see the second chapter in Rodgers' prime years. I am confident that he will have a plethora of great episodes, but that doesn't mean I will want to miss any of it.
