Winnipeg Jets Uniforms: New Threads Guarantee Jets Players Will Always Look Good
There is a chance the Winnipeg Jets are not going to be a fun team to watch this season. Not much of one, in my opinion, but the chance is there.
But hey, at least the Jets are going to look good no matter what they do because they are going to be well-dressed.
In case you missed it, the Jets officially (emphasis on official) unveiled their new uniforms on Tuesday. As you can see in the above photo, they are pretty snazzy. You have the classic blue and white color motif, and you also have what I think is the coolest logo in sports right smack in the middle. There is something about a fighter jet overlapping a Canadian leaf that just screams awesome, and I am not even Canadian.

The Jets unveiled these uniforms in style too. According to the Associated Press, the unveiling ceremony took place at a Canadian Forces Base in Winnipeg, and the world first caught a glimpse of the team's new threads when Andrew Ladd and three other players "emerged from the belly of a Royal Canadian Air Force Hercules."
Like a boss, as the kids say these days.
The Jets logo itself is a shout out to the Royal Canadian Air Force.
In the words of Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff: "We wanted to create a new look ... but also honor the rich history of hockey in our city and fit the era of the Royal Canadian Air Force, which inspired the primary logo."
No doubt the RCAF appreciates the gesture. But for the people of Winnipeg, having the Jets back in town after all these years is good enough. They could have gone out on the ice wearing rags every night, and they still would have gotten a warm reception.
Instead, the Jets are going to take the ice every night garbed at the very height of fashion. I can't say for sure whether or not their new threads will offer any kind of competitive advantage, a la the Yankee pinstripes, but they are certainly spiffy.
