NFL Power Rankings Week 1: 3 Teams Destined for Week 1 Blows to Their Egos

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

If you happen to support any of the following teams, you may want to avert your eyes as soon as the NFL season starts this weekend.

Week 1 is sure to give us a boatload of entertaining games to keep our butts firmly planted in our favorite seats.

I am confident that three teams will be playing from behind after they go 0-1 in Week 1. These are, of course, teams that would otherwise be top shelf if various holes on their squads were not present.

All hope is not lost, but their first foray into 2011 will certainly be a loss for these unlucky few.

Chin up, there is always Week 2.

1. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts will enter week 1 with Kerry Collins as their starting quarterback. In fact, they may have to enter Weeks 2 and 3 under the same helm.

This is a squad that is built on consistency and chemistry. Losing Peyton Manning is a huge loss that will allow the Houston Texans to take advantage.

Sure, the Texans will be missing Arian Foster, but Manning is a much bigger loss. The kind that kills a franchise.

The Ravens and Steelers continue their perennial scuffle that yields scores in the realm of 10-9. The purists will want to take this game out to a fancy dinner and marry it.

A healthy Pittsburgh Steelers team is much better than the current Ravens squad, even with a new vertical threat in Lee Evans. I have no faith in Joe Flacco becoming the elite quarterback that many think he can be, at least not this week.

The New York Jets are one of the best teams in the NFL. I know, because I have been inundated with that fact for three years.

This is the season that we see the Jets' window to cash in on a Super Bowl has passed.

The Cowboys have a talented roster that simply needed a new head coach to get his hands on them. Jason Garrett will have the Cowboys finally playing like the contenders they should have been last year.
