Fantasy Football Week 1 Rankings: Mike Vick Will Have Huge Day in St. Louis

Mike Vick is going to open his 2011 season in a dome. The Rams have made improvements over the last few years, but don't expect many of them to show too well against Vick and the Eagles in the first week.

Vick was made for domes. Everything about them favors fast players.

Late in the year, in the cold weather against good teams, Vick's speed can be negated. But in domes against teams like the Rams, it's just not going to happen.

Vick should throw for two touchdowns and run for at least one. Remember that his top receiver is DeSean Jackson.

He has a game that's also meant for the dome.

While they play outdoors in a cold weather city, the Eagles are actually a team that's meant for domes. They have speed up and down the roster.

But back to Vick specifically, the dome is where he thrived. That's where his best days in Atlanta came, and this will be a rehash of that. If the Rams focus on him and stopping his legs, then the Eagles' weapons will be on the right end of tremendous mismatches.

The Rams' best option is almost to try to shut all other options down and make him beat you. The problem is that Vick will.

I've said that Vick will be an overrated fantasy option this year. Remember that a season is 17 weeks. Looking at all of those, Vick will have his issues. Looking at a few, he will thrive.

The Rams just won’t have the weapons to stop him.

Again, look for two touchdowns on about 225 yards passing. Also, look for a rushing touchdown and about 65 yards on the ground.

I’ve said that the Eagles will score 34 points. That’s four touchdowns and two field goals. Vick will have a hand (or foot) in three of them.

His team has too many ways to win and Vick is in a situation that’s custom made for him. I wouldn’t draft Vick as early as he’s going in fantasy drafts, but I also wouldn’t want to play the team that has him this week.
