In Rory McIlroy's young life, he has done nothing but take the golfing world by storm.

He suffered one of the most heart-wrenching collapses in golf history with his blow up at the 2011 Masters, but managed to win the 2011 U.S. Open with a record-setting performance.

He has quickly become one of the most popular players on tour and here are the reasons why.

1) He Reminds Us of Tiger

This story looks eerily familiar for gold fans as a young up-in-coming, talented golfer completely destroyed the field at the U.S. Open. Woods did this in 1997 and Mcllroy did this last season.

In other words, a young Mcllroy reminds us of one of the greatest golfers in the history of the sport, and one that many of us grew up idolizing. We just hope that the later chapters in his life are not similar to Woods’.
