Captain Charisma: 6 Possible Future Feuds for Christian on SmackDown
Christian has seemingly finalised his long rivalry with Randy Orton. Both Orton and Christian produced fantastic matches as they had a highly entertaining feud.
Last week on Super SmackDown, Christian lost to Orton in a their final encounter, a cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
With Randy moving on to face Mark Henry, Christian has been pushed aside. There are now multiple superstars with whom Christian can have a fresh feud.
Since his return in 2009, Christian has been a face. Now that he is a heel, he has multiple opponents he couldn't feud with before.
These are six superstars who could feud with Christian in the near future.
Sheamus
1 of 7Beginning with the most likely opponent, Sheamus. Seeds of this feud have been planted over the last two weeks, and tonight on SmackDown, the feud officially started.
This feud should be fantastic, with both Sheamus and Christian flourishing in their new face and heel personas, respectively.
They are both great on the mic, and with Christian's in-ring ability, the matches between the two should be highly entertaining.
Look for Sheamus and Christian to have an excellent match at NOC should they have one.
The World Heavyweight Champion (Randy Orton/Mark Henry)
2 of 7Don't count this out. While many have predicted that Christian's pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship is over, he continued to complain about the inequality of the main event on SmackDown.
Mark Henry doesn't seem likely, as both men are heels; however, Orton is a strong possibility.
They've already engaged in a long feud this year, one that provided many great matches.
Christian played the weak, whiny heel perfectly and proved himself in the main event. I believe he deserves another chance (probably his fifth or sixth due to the way their feud was booked).
Insert some creativity from the WWE, and this feud could once again be entertaining.
Daniel Bryan
3 of 7It's imperative that Christian feud with Daniel Bryan sometime in the future.
We were given a taste of a Christian vs. Bryan match a few weeks ago, and I want more. There is no doubt they would work great matches.
Bryan is improving on the mic, and on his Money in the Bank reign, he could benefit from Christian putting him over.
There's a great opportunity for this feud to occur once Bryan and Christian are finished with Sin Cara and Sheamus, respectively.
I'm sure many of us would love to see this feud; it has entertainment written all over it.
Zack Ryder
4 of 7The Woo Woo Woo Kid.
Zack Ryder is the assistant to Smackdown GM Teddy Long, and while his TV time fluctuates week by week, he is nonetheless receiving mainstream exposure.
In his current position, there would be many ways to set up a feud with Christian. Ryder interrupts Christian's whining, for example.
Currently, Ryder is rough around the edges. With a significant feud against Christian, an established worker, Ryder's overall quality will improve. Specifically his in-ring work, which is decent right now.
There's nothing but positives for this feud. Hopefully we can see it in the future, and Christian can assist Zack Ryder in his slow ascension in the WWE.
Johnny Curtis
5 of 7Another case of youth development. Johnny Curtis debuted a few weeks ago and got decimated by Mark Henry.
He clearly has talent and needs legitimacy if he has a chance of stepping up.
A feud against Christian will allow Curtis to show the fans what he can do. He will appear better for it, as Christian could carry a few matches against him, and help him develop on the mic.
Obviously, the WWE needs young stars, and Curtis has immense potential that they need to capitalise on.
John Cena
6 of 7Lastly, the face of the WWE.
Obviously the biggest barrier preventing this feud seems to be the brands. However with the RAW Supershow and the WWE's mishandling of the brand separation this year, this is not off the table.
John Cena is currently feuding with Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship on RAW. Should he lose at Night of Champions, Cena feuding with Christian would be great.
Cena has been stepping up in-ring recently, and with Christian, he would work an awesome match.
Huge benefits for Christian in this, too. With a star like Cena across from him, Christian could finally gain legitimacy with the fans as a serious heel character.
The last time these two feuded was back in 2005 for the WWE Championship, and I would love to see them feud again.
Conclusion
7 of 7Currently, Christian appears to be feuding with Sheamus. However, I'd love to see him feud with anyone on this list.
Christian has tremendous talent and deserves a main event feud, regardless of if it is for a world championship. His in-ring ability would allow him to legitimise young wrestlers and assist in the future.
Which WWE superstar do you want to see Christian feud with?
