2011 Week 1 NFL Fantasy Football: Wide Receivers (WR) Rankings / Projections

Listed as the 34th receiver on our Week 1 rankings, rookie A.J. Green will likely have his ups and downs this year with a rookie quarterback under-center. That said, this week could be a worthy start for Green as a WR-3 play.

The Browns are switching to a 4-3 scheme on defense, and the Bengals' young offense should take advantage and play a respectable game. Look for Green to haul in at least four catches in this one, and he should get down the field for at least on reception of over 30 yards.

 

Miles Austin 22nd Receiver?

While Darrelle Revis is battling a hip flexor this week, I still have a hard time trusting Miles Austin against the top shutdown corner in the game. Look to Dez Bryant as a better play this week, as he should have success against Antonio Cromartie on the other side of the field.

Brandon Lloyd Should Have Big Day

The Raiders are without Nnamdi Asomugha and while they still have Tyvon Branch and Michael Huff at the safety positions, this team will likely be susceptible to the deep ball. Kyle Orton is still in Denver and fantasy owners shouldn’t be surprised if Lloyd continues to be an accountable fantasy producer.

Larry Fitzgerald Tops the List

Look out for Larry Fitzgerald as the star receiver is set for a big bounce back season with Kevin Kolb under center. I’m not a big fan of Kolb, but he will look to Fitz early and often this year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Fitzgerald leads the league in receptions. This should be a great week for Fitzgerald as the Cardinals host the Panthers shaky defense.
