NFL Power Rankings: 3 Teams Destined to Bottom Feed All Season

Gabe ZaldivarJun 4, 2018

The NFL is a league built on parity. Last year's bottom feeders could very well be this year's success stories. The exception to the rule are these three football clubs destined to carry on as NFL dregs.

It takes time to rebuild an organization. The following teams are knee deep into rebuilding efforts. As we will see, all hope is not lost, just hope for this season.

The next three clubs do have an overarching theme: quarterback issues. This is a league built on the man with the ball. Having a shoddy QB will land you on this list.

1. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have just given the ball to Cam Newton. He proved in the preseason that he is not ready to be a star quarterback in this league, yet.

The Panthers understand that this is largely a throw-away season. With an equally lackluster defense, they will get as many reps for Newton as possible, leaving all hope for next season and beyond.

2. Washington Redskins

Do you go with John Beck, or do you go with Rex Grossman? It seems like the same discussion you would have deciding on a fine romantic dinner between McDonald's and leftovers.

We all know that quarterback tandems never work, but this is what head coach Mike Shanahan may be forced to employ as the starter flip-flops on a weekly basis.

One slip up from either will force Shanahan to go with the backup. Both quarterbacks will be playing all season with their heads firmly on the chopping block. That is no way to build chemistry.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

This team has been hit the hardest from departures. It is hard to find one marquee name to bring the fans in, let alone win games.

Carson Palmer is threatening to hold the team hostage by not officially retiring. The receiver corps is in shambles after Chad Ochocinco and Terrel Owens left.

This is going to be a rough season for the Bengals.

Look on the bright side, though. In a few years, these young guys will be battle-tested. That is something to hang your hat on.

Now, do your best to ignore the 2011 season.
