Arsenal News: Fabio Capello Added to List Questioning Arsene Wenger's Tactics

Gabe ZaldivarSep 6, 2011

Fabio Capello takes on Wales Monday night in International play. He will be without midfielder Jack Wilshere, which Capello blames on Arsenal's boss, Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger came under fire by anyone with an opinion on world football this summer. Most of the Gunners' talent was drained when certain departures left in Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

The silence on the open market had many Arsenal supporters calling for Wenger's head. His deadline spending spree has saved him from most criticism, but not all.

English boss, Fabio Capello, is besides himself in the lack of midfield depth as the national side takes on Wales. Jack Wilshere is in danger of being out of domestic and international competitions for several months with an ankle injury.

Capello has hit out that the cause and blame is not his, rather the doing of Arsenal. He puts full responsibility of Wilshere's handling on Arsenal's staff.

Wilshere suffered the injury after he was kicked on the joint during a 2-2 draw with Switzerland at Wembley in June. Before that, Wenger stressed that Wilshere needed rest from over exertion.

Capello is quick to absolve himself of wrong doing as he spoke with reporters.

"

I know he suffered the same injury two years ago. He then suffered this accident against Switzerland and afterwards he went on holiday. He started the season and was not fit — then yes, no, yes, no? Now they've found the problem. It's not my job to say what happened but he suffered against Switzerland and then went on holiday for a month.

"

Capello wishes to stress the importance of treating the injury immediately after an injury, not allowing a player to leave the team on holiday for a month.

It is his assertion that Wilshere would be fit by now had he been getting treatment on the ankle. Now we are treated to an International blame game that once again puts Wenger's managerial tactics into question.

There is a constant tug of war players feel between domestic and international duties. Both managers hate that their prized assets get loaned out throughout the season.

This will not only exacerbate relations between Wenger and Capello, it will serve to end the honeymoon Wenger enjoyed after the deadline.
