Seattle Seahawks: "Final" 53-Man Roster with Waiver Additions
The Seattle Seahawks announced their final roster cuts, finalizing their 53-man roster at 6:00 PM PST on Saturday night; keeping fans guessing three hours after final rosters were due to the NFL offices.
My roster projection included 48 players of the final 53-man roster. The list was off with two offensive linemen, a DL that went on IR and the Seahawks kept one more linebacker and one less defensive back.
There were a few surprises, and a bit of bad news for the Seahawks and their fans. Defensive lineman Jimmy Wilkerson injured his knee in the final preseason game vs. the Oakland Raiders and ended up on the IR for the season. He joins TE John Carlson who had a season-ending torn labrum in his shoulder and WR Isaiah Stanback who is spending his second consecutive season on IR.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Seahawks have three players that will start the season on the PUP list. The following players can be activated, waived or placed on injured reserve following week six. If activated another player will need to be released:
WR Deon Butler
TE Cameron Morrah
CB Roy Lewis
Here is how their final roster shook out—at least for now. Seahawk fans are accustomed to changes being made following roster cuts; however, the roster is likely much more fluid than in years past. The Seahawks may look for help on the offensive line and they still could use a blocking fullback.
In all, the 2011 roster has much better depth than in years past—particularly on the defensive side of the ball. The Seahawks have improved at wide receiver and tight end, and throughout the defense. The one setback is at quarterback, where Tarvaris Jackson has much to prove.
