NFL Cutdown Day 2011: Which Cincinnati Bengals Didn't Make the Final Roster
The final cut-down day is in the books, and the 2011 Cincinnati Bengals roster has been finalized. It will have proved a hard task for Marvin Lewis & Co. to make certain decisions, as the Bengals back-ups have had a pleasantly surprising preseason.
With LB Roddrick Muckelroy and TE Bo Scaife being placed on injured reserve, and LB Keith Rivers and CB Adam Jones headed to the PUP list, the Bengals were left with 23 cuts to make on Saturday.
Jay Finley RB The first name to emerge this morning. The former Baylor Bear and compensatory draft pick failed to make a splash in a pretty stacked Bengals running back corps. If he isn't picked up, he could end up on the practice squad.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Fui Vakapuna FB Chris Pressley's emergence at fullback, coupled with Vakapuna's ongoing injury problems, unfortunately spelled the end here.
Brandon Ghee CB With the additions of Nate Clements and Kelly Jennings at CB, the secondary was CB heavy. Ghee was a casualty of it, but is eligible for practice squad.
DeQuin Evans LB An undrafted free agent out of Kentucky, Evans received praise from fans and coaches this preseason. However, he didn't outplay Dan Skuta and has less special teams impact than Vincent Rey. The Bengals are hoping to sign him to the practice squad.
Max Jean-Gilles OL Originally considered to compete for a starting spot at LG, Jean-Gilles had an ugly preseason and so became expendable. Expect Bengals to look around the league for OL depth.
Andrew Hawkins WR Two time winner of the Grey Cup with the Montreal Alouettes, Little Hawk, as Marvin Lewis referred to him, was hoping to gain a spot based on his special teams ability, but, despite a good preseason, he didn't make the cut. Hawkins will join the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Korey Lindsey CB A seventh-round pick for the Bengals this year, Lindsey is a prime candidate for the practice squad. He's showed good instincts and route-recognition, but, understandably, Lindsey couldn't match up to the wealth of experience at corner added to the Bengals this offseason.
Victor Adeyanju DE Adeyanju had a strong preseason racking up tackles, and I'm sad to see him go, however, the Bengals are pretty stacked at the end position.
Dan Le Fevour QB As expected, the Bengals went with two QBs in Andy Dalton and Bruce Gradkowski. If LeFevour clears waivers, he'll be headed to the practice squad. No surprises here.
Remaining waived players: CB Jonathan Wade, CB Rico Murray, TE John Nalbone, DT Jason Shirley, FB James Develin, CB David Pender, DE James Ruffin, WR Calvin Russell, DT Cornell Banks, HB John Griffin, OT Matthew O’Donnell, G Chris Riley, K Thomas Weber
In other news, RG Bobbie Williams faces a suspension for the first four games of the season due to a violation of the league's Performance Enhancing Substances policy. Bengals will have to fill the hole through waivers. He won't return until October 10th, the day after the Buffalo game. It leaves the Bengals extremely thin at guard, so expect some moves during waivers.
Marvin Lewis commented on the days cuts and addressed the situation with Williams.
He said: [Regarding Williams]“We anticipated this would occur. It is nothing that has come as a surprise from our end and it is something we have prepared for.”
“I think we made some difficult decisions,” Lewis said. “We kept guys who have demonstrated the temperament of where we are. We’ll assess the waiver wire and see where we are about strengthening the back of the roster.”
