Dana White Says Brock Lesnar Is "100 Percent Healthy"

Mike HodgesSep 2, 2011

The UFC held a press conference regarding a heavyweight title bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos, which would be featured as the main event for the upcoming UFC on FOX card in November.

Along with the announcement, UFC President Dana White addressed potential rumors about advertising Brock Lesnar in the main event but confirmed he will not be slated to return until 2012.

According to earlier reports suggesting the former UFC Heavyweight champion would retire from mixed martial arts, White immediately responded and denied any claims about Lesnar's future.

"That's ridiculous. It's so far from the truth it's not even funny," White told reporters.

"He's 100 percent. His surgery went great, he's 100 percent, he's getting back into training in the next couple of weeks."

It appears White hasn't lost any faith in Lesnar and his ability to remain a huge draw for the company, and he is confident the former WWE superstar will return. Despite potential matchups on the horizon with fighters such as Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem, there is more concern on Lesnar's health, momentarily.

When he does return, it will undoubtedly be met with a huge reaction.

And Lesnar and the UFC should invest their time in setting up a marquee bout when he is healthy and comfortable enough to perform again. And by the sounds of things, they look to have full control directing Lesnar's future on the right path.
