Baltimore Grand Prix Event Info
The Baltimore Grand Prix on Sunday is the 14th round of 17 on the Izod IndyCar Series schedule. It’s also the last street course the Series will visit this season. That’s about all we know about this event since it is its inaugural event.
The series will enter the unknown in what could be a tight Championship battle between Dario Franchitti and Will Power. Power has been gaining on Franchitti the last two races and with a new circuit, anything can happen.
One positive for the race is that it’s on Labor Day weekend, where a lot of cookouts and gatherings take place, so hopefully the race will be on at those events and capture the eye of some new fans. The other positive is there won’t be any competition from a NASCAR race since the Sprint Cup race is later Sunday night in Atlanta.
