BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI—Former welterweight world champion Andre Berto (27-1, 21 KO) seeks redemption through the current IBF champion Jan Zaveck (31-1, 18 KO) this Saturday night, live at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino.

Meet the Fighters

Andre Berto is a strong, 27-year-old American fighter with tremendous athletic ability and destructive power, but he is not quite as skilled a ring technician as some of his welterweight rivals, such as current opponent Jan Zaveck.

This past April, Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO) took Berto's undefeated record and world championship belt with a tremendous performance and fight-of-the-year candidate. Berto seeks redemption this Saturday.

Jan Zaveck is a 35-year-old world champion with a stiff jab, a mean right and skills and experience that could help the aging warrior box circles around his younger, greener foe.

Zaveck's skills have allowed him to wow his fellow Slovenians, but now he has a chance to ascend the American boxing world's ranks, where top prizes include big-money fights against the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. 

Zaveck is a highly underrated welterweight who avenged his only loss two years ago to Rafael Jackiewicz (37-9-1, 18 KO) during a title defense. Zaveck has not lost his world title since gaining it for the first time in 2009. He will seek ascension this Saturday.
