Fantasy Football Sleepers 2011: 4 Worst-Kept Secrets in the NFL
Every fantasy football owner is always looking for that edge to beat out their competition.
Sleepers are generally the best way to do that and unearthing the guy that nobody else sees value in is normally what determines the winners and losers in each league.
However, not all fantasy football secrets in the NFL are...well...secret!
Tim Hightower
1 of 4As a Mike Shanahan running back, Tim Hightower is being pointed to by a lot of fantasy gurus as a big sleeper for the coming year after an impressive preseason.
Hightower has been drafted as high as in the 40s in my drafts despite being projected in the late 90s. He should have a big year, but don't expect to see him on any waiver wires.
Tony Romo
2 of 4Coming off a season where he landed on IR, Romo is in prime position to have a huge fantasy season, with some top notch receivers.
His better protection upfront should see him stay upright for a full 16-game season, but he will have to be taken pretty early if you want to land the Cowboys signal caller. There are definitely no secret sleepers in Dallas.
Ben Tate
3 of 4Arian Foster's hamstring injury has obviously not been kept very quiet considering he is tweeting out his own MRI.
However, even before then Ben Tate figured to get some time in the Texans backfield and has been pinpointed by plenty of fans who see him as a great late-round pickup and potential third starting running back.
Matthew Stafford
4 of 4Stafford has been the MVP of the preseason—imagine if they actually had that—but he can't answer the questions about his durability until the regular season.
Of course Stafford is a sleeper, being a former first-overall pick who was brilliant in the three games he played last season. With the talent around him in Detroit and the obvious talent in his arm, it's kind of difficult to keep his stock from rising.
