As we get closer to the Thanksgiving holiday, there are quite a few big names that could be looking for a new home this holiday season. DallasBasketball.com is reporting that the Mavericks have started flirting with the idea of bring in Clippers big man Chris Kaman to their team.

The Clippers had tried to field offers for Kaman from an Eastern Conference team, but talks stalled with all potential suitors. Dallas has also thrown their hat into the Stephon Marbury and Gerald Wallace sweepstakes as well. As for whom Dallas could be using as trade bait, the only name that is certain to being dangled in front of teams is Jerry Stackhouse, who has fallen out of favor with management as of late.

GM Donnie Nelson confirmed Dallas has been “busy in talking to everybody”, and it is only a matter of time before the Mavs get a new look. Of course, maybe I could email Donnie Nelson our ideas on some trades that could help Dallas out.

The idea of leaving Dallas seems to be fine with Jerry Stackhouse, according to the Dallas Morning News. Stack and his agent are reportedly exploring options on their end about a move, with a “wish list” of potential teams Jerry would like to go to.

Stackhouse is owed $7 million this season, which is quite a bit to pay a player logging less time than a John McCain election ad these days...

Staying in Dallas, of course by now many of you have heard about the SEC charging Mavs owner Mark Cuban with insider trading on Monday, from his days as shareholder of Mamma.com.

Word coming out of Dallas now suggests that the SEC’s investigation is tainted, and that the relationship Cuban had with SEC lawyer and Forth Worth resident Jeffrey Norris went sour years ago. Stay tuned…

Heading back east, it wouldn’t be a RumorMill without the daily Stephon Marbury update. The NY Post is reporting that NBA Players Association attorney Hal Biagas is expected to negotiate buyout talks between Marbury and Knicks President Donnie Walsh this week.

Many feel the end of this marriage will happen this week. If Marbury does in fact get his buyout, his cell phone will be ringing the moment it hits the net. Interest in Starbury has grown from Boston, Miami, and San Antonio, to Dallas and Los Angeles (Clippers). Stay tuned….
