WWE: 6 Reasons the "New" Sin Cara Will Be More Successful Than the Original
Hello, folks!
Welcome to my 100th article here on Bleacher Report!
This evening, I am bringing you a slideshow which will discuss why this "new" Sin Cara will be much better than the original.
For those of you that weren’t aware of the change, here is a little background information.
Just recently, Mistico, the man who originally portrayed Sin Cara, was suspended from duty under the Talent Wellness policy for 30 days. WWE decided that instead of abandoning the Sin Cara character for a whole month, they would let someone else take over until Mistico was fit to return.
A wrestler known as Hunico took over this role. Funnily enough, he went by the name of Mistico for a while, so I guess it was a perfect fit.
The problem we are faced with now is that people are unsure of who should portray the Mexican sensation that is Sin Cara.
I have come up with six arguments for Hunico portraying the character as opposed to Mistico.
Throughout the slideshow, old Sin Cara will be represented by “OSC” and the new version “NSC," mainly to avoid confusion for casual viewers/readers.
So without further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy the read!
Flair
1 of 7Personally, I think NSC has a lot more flair than OSC.
The reason for my thinking is because when NSC made his debut on SmackDown, he instantly caught my attention. I didn’t know about the swap beforehand, yet I noticed the difference straight away.
It was like Sin Cara had been given a new lease of life and had finally relaxed into the WWE.
Only when I watched the match again and noticed it was definitely a different person did I realise that I enjoyed his match a whole lot more than I had been enjoying OSC’s matches.
There is a charisma there that OSC seemed to be lacking.
Botches
2 of 7I know that the match last Tuesday had to be re-taped...twice—yet every televised show NSC has worked on has been pretty much botch-free.
OSC was horrendous for botching moves and had built an awful reputation around it in his relatively short stay in the WWE.
Up to this point, NSC has looked to be smoother when wrestling in his lucha libre style.
It just makes the match a lot more enjoyable and removes the worry that it will be embarrassingly ruined by an unneeded fault.
Cockiness
3 of 7OSC also has a reputation for being extremely cocky in the locker room.
Many put this down to him not having a fear of being released, knowing he would be offered contracts at the top wrestling companies in Mexico.
This cocky attitude is doing him no favours, especially when most would probably think he will be protected by Triple H due to him being the Game’s pet project.
I think drawing locker room heat is the stupidest thing a wrestler can do as it results in resentment, and wrestlers don’t like to be disrespected.
This anger can be reflected in matches, which affects the audience.
Not good.
Language Barrier
4 of 7NSC can speak English, which might sound harsh on OSC. I am in no way being offensive—this language barrier makes it hard for OSC to call spots in matches.
NSC can call spots and make changes within the match as he can communicate with the other wrestlers.
I’m sure I read a rumour somewhere that OSC is not interested in learning English, but I may have made that up, so don’t take it as gospel.
Either way, the language barrier is playing a big part in this whole fiasco.
Some would argue that wrestlers should learn Spanish, but this to me seems ridiculous. Have one person learn a language or a whole locker room?
The latter is unfeasible.
FCW
5 of 7NSC has had a lot of developmental training in Florida Championship Wrestling.
OSC skipped this process altogether and therefore missed out on some vital skills he could have probably used in WWE. He is not used to wrestling in the style the WWE uses and it is painfully obvious.
NSC, on the other hand, is more than used to it thanks to his developmental contract.
This is another reason I think he will outshine OSC—well, I think he already has.
Finishing Manoeuvre
6 of 7I did not think much of OSC’s finisher.
It was too complicated to set up and wasn’t exactly that cool when closely analysed. It’s pretty much a simultaneous front/back-flip.
However, NSC’s finisher, a Swanton Bomb followed by the Lionsault is a lot easier to prepare and execute. I also think it suits the Sin Cara character much better than the weird turnbuckle move.
Many believe that he should pick a more extravagant finishing move and use his SwantonLionsaultBomb as a signature manoeuvre.
I agree with this sentiment.
A more extravagant finisher is needed for a character dubbed the Mexican Sensation.
