WWE: What's Next for Kevin Nash?
Hello folks!
This Monday the IWC marked out at seeing Kevin Nash face CM Punk at Night of Champions 2011...okay, I marked out.
Nevertheless, it matters not because the excitement was soon quashed with the revelation that the Board of Directors refused the proposed match and replaced it—Triple H will now face CM Punk at Night of Champions.
Of course, this was just a storyline, and, in reality, Nash failed a medical.
Apparently the problem is minor, as reported by cagesideseats.com; Nash probably would have been OK if the Talent Wellness policy wasn't in place.
Unfortunately for me and others who were loving this angle and the possibility of Big Sexy returning to the ring, we won’t be seeing Nash compete until the WWE is certain that he is fully fit to wrestle. This is completely right, in no way am I saying WWE should risk the health of Nash just to get good pay-per-view buys, I’m just disappointed.
Now that all this has transpired, I can’t help but wonder what is next for Nash, in this storyline and in general.
I have made a slideshow highlighting different ways his character could go.
So without further ado, sit back, relax and enjoy the read!
Interfering on Triple H’s Behalf
1 of 8At Night of Champions, it is perfectly feasible that Kevin Nash would interfere on Triple H’s behalf.
Not only would this cost Punk the match, causing annoyance from that side, but Triple H could also see it as a knock at CM.
Triple H could be angry at Nash for not allowing him to prove that he could beat Punk on his own.
There are two potential feud extensions from this outcome, allowing a lot of screen time for Nash, despite him not being able to compete.
The downside to this is not getting a clean finish to the match, but it is a likely scenario.
Venting His Anger
2 of 8We didn’t see Nash’s reaction to the last minute breaking news on Raw the other night, but I wouldn’t like to be in Triple H’s shoes considering he was already angry.
He could go Mark Henry-scale mental and wreak havoc on Raw next week, complaining that the Board of Directors don’t know what they are talking about, or shooting on Triple H about how he always wants the glory for himself.
This would obviously happen before Night of Champions, and create a reason for interfering in the match between Punk and Triple H.
Aligning with John Laurinaitis
3 of 8In possibly the most unlikely scenario I have thought of, Nash could join forces with John Laurinaitis.
By doing this, we could get more of an inside look at what John is up to.
I don’t know about you, but I have to believe that Laurinaitis is on screen for a reason and not just to help McMahon, otherwise we wouldn’t have seen him since Money in the Bank.
Nash and Laurinaitis could be shown to be in cahoots and manipulating the events from behind the scenes.
However, I believe there is one person they also need involved if this is the direction Nash follows...
Stephanie McMahon
4 of 8Stephanie has been shown on screen recently and people are not sure where her loyalties lie.
What if she is really doing what Punk says and is pulling the strings behind the scenes?
Nash and Laurinaitis could be her cronies, trying to fulfil tasks she doesn’t want her husband finding out about; or doing himself.
Maybe Triple H is just a puppet in this whole charade and Stephanie is really in control.
Obviously, it could be argued that Triple H could be in on the whole thing as well, but then I don’t believe the story would have many legs to stand on.
Bringing Back the Kliq
5 of 8Moving away from Stephanie and Laurinaitis now, Nash could use what power he has to convince the Kliq to come back, now that it seems that Triple H has deserted him.
This could create a multitude of angles for Nash to follow.
I have already highlighted the positives of bringing the Kliq back in my other article, but judging from the comments it received, I’m not sure how popular bringing the Kliq back would be.
I personally wouldn’t mind it, but it seems that many cannot forget the stars they tried to bury, or how they manipulated and controlled events to benefit themselves, usually at the expense of other superstars.
Aligning with CM Punk
6 of 8This seems to be a popular angle judging from the abundance of articles regarding it.
Nash and Triple H seem to be on rocky ground so does it not make sense for him to align with CM Punk?
He would have to do it at Night of Champions in my opinion, as the angle and turn is too big to waste on Monday Night Raw.
Nash and Punk could then team up (providing Nash is cleared to wrestle) against Triple H, making his life hell and possibly resulting in a handicap match at Hell in a Cell.
There I go getting ahead of myself again.
Simply Leaving
7 of 8He could obviously do none of these things and just leave like Kharma, breaking down and crying in the ring...I hope not though.
Thanks for Reading!
8 of 8So there you have it; seven directions that Nash could possibly follow. I personally would like him to align with CM Punk and create a bigger storyline for Survivor Series, possibly even culminating at WWE Vengeance.
But what would you like to see? Would you like him to follow any of the directions I have listed or have you thought of your own for him?
Either way, I would very much like to hear your opinion on the subject, so please leave a comment after the tone.*
Thanks for reading!
(*There is no tone, please just comment)
