WWE Smackdown: Christian Loses Again, Morrison Not on TV

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

While last night's special was not really "super", I felt it was a good two hour show. I really liked the flow from a live Monday show to a live Tuesday show.

Now the WWE week is over, and we can start building up anticipation for next week. It reminds me of the NFL. They have most of their games on Sunday, then a little extra something Monday night, then the rest of the week off (except rare Thursday games).

I really feel that the WWE can do the same...a rare Sunday show, followed up by a live show Monday and Tuesday, then the week off...with that said, let's dive into the top moments from last night!

John Morrison Is Nowhere

1 of 7

I apologize if it seems I am hard on the guy, but if combining rosters was to benefit anybody, you would think Morrison would at least appear on SuperSmackdown.

When I saw Sin-ister Cara (yes, another name I am calling) come out, I was sure Morrison was coming out to lose. Instead, Daniel Bryan got the slot.

Back to Morrison, if he can't find time for Raw OR Smackdown, perhaps my FCW idea is not as crazy as it may have seemed...

Triple H Explains His Return

2 of 7

WWE really had to make his return to in-ring competition a big deal. They fell just short of that, but it still made logical sense.

Whether you love him or hate him, Triple H returning for a match is a big deal. Sadly, it appears a commercial aired promoting Triple H's first match back on Raw this Monday night.

Ouch! WWE is really banking on Triple H's return right now. We shall see if it pays off...

Kevin Nash's Theme

3 of 7

I did not comment on this yesterday because I was waiting to see if it was a permanent move or not. It certainly looks like it now.

Great move by WWE! It is not the full-on "nWo music", but it is enough of a homage that newer fans who never saw the nWo will like it. I love it.

On top of that, Nash had another great appearance. As long as he is made out to be a seven-foot destroyer and does not do much in the ring, I am fine.

Sin-Ister Cara Reveals His True Colors

4 of 7

As noted earlier, just like Air Boom, I am going to see if my nickname sticks. Sin-ister Cara attacked Bryan last night after his match, and it really was a shocking moment.

Of course, the theory making the rounds is that the real Sin Cara will return and fight off the bad Sin-ister Cara down the road (Mexico's October tour?), but for now, that was a cool moment.

I will say this though. If there are NO plans to do a Sin Cara vs. Sin-ister Cara match, this heel turn was a bad, bad move.

Christian Is Done Main Eventing

5 of 7

He may get a tag team main event slot here and there. he may get thrown into a four way or six way match down the road, bur for now? One on one? Main heel on the Blue Brand?

He is done.

I say this as a big fan of Christian's. It's just that I try to stay away from "fantasy booking" and stick to reality. Christian lost on Monday clean, lost on Tuesday night, and then quickly rolled to the side of the ring to make room for Mark Henry.

Yeah, as much as I love the Orton/Christian matches, it's over.

John Cena Wins

6 of 7

His promo to open the show was funny. For anybody tuning in to Sy-Fy, if John Cena is the first person out, they will likely keep watching. Good move.

John's match with Wade was pretty short, but I didn't mind too much. Wade is a mid card performer now. John is in the main event picture for the WWE title.

Cena should have won. While it could have been a little bit more "back and forth", nobody lost anything from the beginning 20 minutes.

Mark Henry Is the Best Performer on TV Right Now

7 of 7

Yes, I posted this video yesterday.

Yes, I will be posting it many more times in the future.

I felt Punk had a quiet night (nothing new), so the number one slot goes to the other "shining star" right now, and that is Mark Henry.

From his promo early in the program to the final images of the episode, Mark did exactly what he has been doing: intimidating people, destroying guys in the ring and taking one step closer to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion!
