Dallas Cowboys: 2011 Fantasy Football Projections For Tony Romo And Key Players
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of potential fantasy football stars.
Tony Romo, Felix Jones, Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten form one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. They should have no problems scoring plenty of touchdowns.
Despite having so many stars on offense, there will be plenty of opportunities for each of them to succeed.
This team, barring injury, will improve greatly from last year's 6-10 mark.
The defense will be improved under new coordinator Rob Ryan, meaning more time of possession for the Cowboys' offense to work with.
Let's take a look at the Cowboys' five offensive stars and what kind of numbers they'll post in 2011.
Tony Romo, QB
1 of 5Romo is coming off an injury to his non-throwing shoulder in 2010 that caused him to miss most of the season.
Assuming he stays healthy this season, he’ll be a strong second-tier quarterback.
With his weapons in the passing game, including Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Felix Jones, the Dallas offense will be explosive.
Projected numbers: 4,100 yards, 30 touchdowns, 15 interceptions
Felix Jones, RB
2 of 5Jones is finally the feature back in Dallas and he’s ready to make the most of it.
I’m a little higher on Jones than most fantasy writers, but he has the potential to be a star.
He’s one of the fastest players in the league and if he learns how to avoid most of the major collisions, he should last the whole year and be a Top-10 fantasy back.
Projected numbers: 1,200 rushing yards, 8 touchdowns, 500 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns
Miles Austin, WR
3 of 5Austin is a very talented wide receiver, but he’s going to take a back seat to Dez Bryant in 2011.
He’ll still put up huge numbers, but Bryant is going to be more productive in terms of yards and touchdowns.
Of course, if you pass on Austin, you are going to regret it. He and Bryant are going to form one of the best receiver combos in the NFL in 2011.
Projected numbers: 1,100 yards, 5 touchdowns
Dez Bryant, WR
4 of 5Bryant was outstanding as a rookie until a foot injury prematurely ended his season.
This year, he’s looking to break out in a big way.
He’s a legitimate threat to score every time he touches the ball and gives Romo a big target in the red zone.
Projected numbers: 1,300 yards, 11 touchdowns
Jason Witten, TE
5 of 5Witten is Romo’s favorite target. He’s been the most reliable receiver in Dallas for several years now, and nothing should change this year.
He’ll be there in the middle of the field waiting for the times when Romo needs to get rid of a ball.
That’s where he makes his living, and a good living at that.
Projected numbers: 850 yards, 6 touchdowns
