WWE: Zack Ryder and 10 Other Wrestlers Fans Should Push for

Charlie GJun 7, 2018

The WWE Universe has more of an influence over the WWE than you think.

The fans have been very vocal regarding what they want. If it's getting Daniel Bryan his job back or pushing for Zack Ryder to get television time, it worked.

The WWE listened to fans' articles, slideshows, blogs, videos on YouTube and signs in the crowd, and they gave the fans what they wanted.

So consider this as an experiment. A test for WWE and IMPACT if you will.

Lets, the Internet Wrestling Community, try to push other wrestlers that we feel deserve more television time or a second chance.

Write articles or slideshows about these wrestlers, post videos on YouTube explaining why, bring signs for the guys who don't get on television.

The following superstars have everything they need to get on television except for one thing: fan support.

Here are the 10 wrestlers I think us fans should really push for.

Enigmatic Generation of Wrestling

Curt Hawkins

2 of 12

Zack Ryder's former tag team partner, "The Party Starter" Curt Hawkins.

Anyone know the last time this guy had a match on either RAW or Smackdown? Me neither.

Hawkins is a good young talent, he just needs time on a show bigger than Superstars to prove himself.

I think it's weird that fans rallied behind Hawkins' former tag team partner, Zack Ryder, and left Hawkins out in the rain.

He may not be too good on the microphone, but he can certainly work a match.

Chris Masters

3 of 12

WWE fans are what made the WWE bring back Daniel Bryan last year.

Bryan was fired for choking ring announcer, Justin Roberts, with his own tie.

Chris Masters, on the other hand, was fired because the creative team simply had nothing for him. You know, the usual excuse.

Masters seemed like a promising superstar and was rumored to have a push after Royal Rumble. Nobody expected that push to be out the door.

Masters was definitely the most shocking release so far this year, and got fired for no good reason.

If the fans can bring back Daniel Bryan after breaking a strict WWE rule, they should definitely be able to bring back Masters.

Last I checked, the mid-card title scene isn't too hot.

Murphy

4 of 12

Everyone is so quick to write this guy off. When time comes for releases in IMPACT, he's always at the top of everyone's list.

I just want to see Murphy get a shot on IMPACT.

I was impressed by Murphy during his match with Gunner and Rob Terry back in March. Murphy is good in the ring for a 'big guy'.

I'm just asking for people to not write Murphy off so soon.

Okada

5 of 12

Most people probably don't even know who Okada is, and I can't say I blame them.

Earlier this year, Okada was Samoa Joe's sidekick. An exact replica of the Green Hornet. Talk about a bad gimmick.

Okada wrestled one match on IMPACT this year and lost.

Okada, like Murphy, gets kicked to the sideline too early by the fans. Okada is a good young, 23 year-old Japanese talent. He was just the subject of a bad gimmick his first time around.

The thing that really turned the tide for me with Okada was a match he had with Alex Shelley on Xplosion.

Drew McIntyre

6 of 12

McIntyre was dubbed a future World Champion upon entering the WWE.

Fast-forward a few years later and he's not even on television.

I like Drew McIntyre. He's a good in-ring asset, but not main event caliber just yet. He needs more work on the microphone but he can't get that without getting on television first.

You don't have to be charismatic to be a World Champion. Randy Orton proves that.

I think with a little backing by the fans, Drew could get back on television and work towards being a future World Champion.

Tyson Kidd

7 of 12

Kidd is and has been a solid in-ring worker. Like McIntyre, he just lacks the microphone skills.

With Vickie Guerrero looking to expand her horizons (Insert Jerry Lawler's bad joke here) it'd be smart for WWE to match her with someone like McIntyre or Kidd.

The thing with WWE is that they tried with Kidd already. They paired him up with a few managers but it didn't work out. Maybe because they paired him with the wrong managers.

If Tyson Kidd gets airtime more often, I might watch more often.

Let's get Kidd on the tube.

Magnus

8 of 12

You could list The British Invasion as a team or just Williams or Magnus as individuals.

The Invasion hardly gets any time on television despite being one of the best tag teams today.

The reason why I listed Magnus alone is because of one fact: he won the Xplosion Championship Challenge.

Winning that Championship Challenge now grants Magnus a title shot at any champion of his choosing.

Be it TV title, Tag Team title or World title, the choice is his.

Unlike McIntyre and Kidd, Magnus is pretty good on the mic alone and pretty entertaining. Magnus can be the total package in IMPACT.

I'm hoping this Championship Challenge will get him on camera more often. I'm also hoping he chooses to take the belt off of EY and help revive the TV title.

Ink Inc.

9 of 12

A fair argument is that one half of Ink, Inc., Jesse Neal, has been injured for some time.

Anyone know when he'll be back?

However, Ink, Inc. has been around for a while now and I feel they are ready to add some Tag Team gold to their resume.

Ink, Inc. is a cool team loaded with potential. Last I've seen of them as a team, they had a pretty good fan base. They just need time on-air.

Tyler Reks

10 of 12

Just a few days ago I remember reading a tweet or something from Tyler Reks.

Reks said he was backstage and waiting for his chance. I hate to break it to him, but with the brand split now ending it looks like it will be tough for him to find his place.

I follow Reks on Twitter and he's not afraid to interact and respond to some fans' tweets. If that helps him build his fan base, so be it.

I remember all the buzz about Reks' return to the WWE on Smackdown. Everyone seemed to agree that he had potential.

After a few weeks, all the buzz simmered down and now what do we have? Nothing.

To quote Warden Samuel Norton from The Shawshank Redemption, Tyler Reks has "vanished like a fart in the wind."

Wade Barrett

11 of 12

Surprised to see Wade Barrett listed? Don't be.

Barrett is similar to Tyler Reks, just Barrett's buzz lasted longer throughout the IWC and WWE.

Wade Barrett, winner of NXT 1, debuted with the Nexus and took WWE by storm. One year later he is a mere mid-card wrestler on Smackdown.

Wade Barrett is the most deserving of a World title on this list. In fact, everyone expected Barrett to capture Heavyweight gold within his debut season.

He has everything he needs. Microphone skills, in-ring skills, fan reaction, looks; so what happened?

After Barrett was kicked out of Nexus, he made the Corre, after the Corre went under so did his career.

The Barrett hype came to a dead end.

All it takes to refuel that hype is popular demand by the "WWE Universe."

A Cruiserweight Division

12 of 12

This only makes too much sense.

How do you not have a Cruiserweight division with guys like Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Curt Hawkins, Rey Mysterio, Primo, Yoshi Tatsu and Trent Barreta?

I'd love to see WWE revive the Cruiserweight division and maybe, just maybe, a little fan support would help push the process.

This is the top thing I want to see in WWE.

Bring back the Cruiserweight division and I'll be happy.
