Chelsea Transfer News: Blues in with €34 Million for Bayern's Franck Ribery

Chelsea are by no means done yet in this transfer market. After the Blues signed Valencia's Juan Mata and Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku, it was thought that Chelsea were done ahead of the 2011/2012 season.

However, stunning performances by both sides of Manchester have pressured the Blues to make one last high-profile signing. With Luka Modric out of the question, they have turned their sights to French International and Bayern Munich star winger Franck Ribery.

According to Goal.com Chelsea will try to lure the winger away from Germany with an offer in the region of €34 million. However, "Bayern Munich are believed to want €40.6m for the potential sale of Ribery, with the Blues thought to be willing to offer the Frenchman €11.3m-a-year to move to Stamford Bridge."

If Ribery makes a move to Chelsea he will certainly prove to be one of the English Premier League's signings of the season. With a Malouda move to rivals Arsenal gaining more and more momentum, Ribery's signing would trigger a whole host of action on the market.

The question about the future of Arjen Robben will also come under much pressure if Ribery decides to leave. If either player chooses to leave Munich the famous "Robbery" partnership will be broken, and with Robben open to a Barcelona move, Bayern Munich may just be left with a huge sum of money by the closure of the transfer window.

Obviously any deal will be secured in the next few hours.
