Will the Cleveland Browns Be Singing the Buffalo Blues?

Browns Backers,

If I'm the Browns, I would quit, too. Considering how this season has been going, New Kids on The Block would make a better comeback than the 2008 Browns. When you're considered on the leagues biggest disappointments by not being able to stop the run, let alone hold a lead then, I would indeed quit!

As for the Bills, I would just go ahead and move to Toronto and get it over with, because like Cleveland, we are like long-lost brothers separated by birth—or in this case 120 miles—both generally go far, but come up so painfully short.

Both teams had high expectations set after having breakout years, but while one team is just about eliminated from the playoffs at 3-6, the Bills at 5-4, both were considered front-runners for their respective divisions considering that the AFC East looked like a disaster area with the Brady Lite Cheats, the New York Bretts, and the leftover Miami tuna, the Bill were just going to dominate right?

I guess reality didn't get the memo, as starting QB Trent Edwards going down with a concussion and then a three game skid to 5-4 will change your view on things!

This will be the fourth meeting between Brady Quinn and Trent Edwards, going back to their rivalry at Notre Dame and Stanford, and while Quinn leads the head-to-head series at 3-0, if you're a Brownie, hope he makes it 4-0. If Edwards bests Quinn for the first time, then the Browns' season is D-O-N-E!

I will gladly admit that Quinn looked very impressive in his debut on Thursday vs. Denver, and while he did everything in his power to win the game, the defense couldn't guard a corpse, let alone hold a lead again, and folded like a house of cards.

Quinn engineered drives and looked totally comfortable in the huddle by directing the offense with short/mid-range passes. In this game, I would expect more of the same if the weather for tonight holds up, which would force the game to be decided on the ground.

I look for Cleveland to try and establish RB Jamal Lewis and Jarome Harrison in tandem, which should loosen up the Bills' defense and let Quinn pick them apart with the play-action pass.

What the Browns need to do to win this game is get some pressure on Edwards, contain RB Marshawn Lynch, and play physical on their WR tandem of Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish. Let's just hope that McDonald and Wright don't turn into Wrong and serve a million.

This is a vital game for the Browns, if they even want to entertain thoughts of the wild card, and even though Quinn was impressive against one of the worst defenses, let's see what he does in his first road game on a Monday night.

Prediction: Browns 24 Bills 21
