South Carolina Football 2011: Defensive Back Injuries Are Making Me Panic
I try to be fairly professional with this at times, and I try to stay somewhat along the line of healthy bias and away from fan fantasy (see my Garcia article for fan fantasy...yech).
However, there are times when I just need to write about something to get it off my chest...and I need a collective Internet yell...
...and here it is...
BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON WITH ALL THE INJURIES TO THE GAMECOCKS SECONDARY???
Phew. I feel better.
But seriously... Akeem Aguste aggravated his foot injury, and now he is doubtful for the game against East Carolina.
Well, I guess I better suit up to play safety on Saturday. I am available, Spurrier, if you need a body.
That makes the defensive back injury/suspension report look like most teams' full injury reports.
Out or doubtful for Saturdays game are:
Akeem Aguste - Foot
Brison Williams - Season Ending Injury
Vic Hampton - Suspended
Devonte Holloman - Suspended
Sheldon Royster - Diabeties
Martay Mattox - Suspended
That is six of our top guys. Left is an assorted number of players who will just need to shut down one of the better passing attacks the team will face.
Luckily, ECU is having some injury concerns of their own. I am still a bit nervous as a fan...and if you aren't, then you may be a bit on the overconfident side.
Hopefully, these guys will make it back for the Georgia game...or that one could be problematic.
It's still great to be a Gamecock.
