NHL: The 5 Weirdest Hockey Collectibles on eBay

Kevin GoffAug 30, 2011

Every sport has its avid collectors of things that nobody would ever think to keep, and hockey is no different.

People keep ticket stubs and game programs. People even keep the puck that came into the crowd and knocked them unconscious.

Those might seem a little quirky, at worst, but those all pale in comparison to the pieces of hockey collectibles that are available on eBay.

Take a look at the top 5 weirdest collectibles that the great site of eBay has to offer.

Figural Hockey Shaker

1 of 5

One of the strangest things that I've seen in a long time on eBay, this figural shaker is on sale for just about 12 bucks.

You can check out the bidding page here.

Yeah, this guy looks like a hockey player with the stick and gloves and possibly goalie pads, but who on earth would sell this over the internet?

More importantly, who would buy this over the internet? Maybe it's for the lovely sugar and cinnamon that reside within the hockey player.

Proof that hockey players are rough on the outside, but sweet on the inside. Or something.

The Hockey Bible

2 of 5

That's right folks, the hockey bible.

It's hard to tell based off of looking at the cover exactly what this book contains, but you can buy it right here if you want.

Somebody who is older and remembers this might have a bit more insight into what it actually is as most of my google searches have come up rather dry.

The most that I could find was something off of Epinions that seemed to be talking more about The Hockey News than the book I've found here.

All in all, this would be something that any hockey addict might want to have just to say that they have it.

Plastic St. Louis Blues

3 of 5

I couldn't get this one off of the eBay site, so those guys are not the actual item for sale.

The item is vintage plastic coleco table hockey players all dressed as the St. Louis Blues, check it out here.

It's hard to guess exactly what the appeal of this type of figure is, as if you want to maintain any value to these guys then you can't play the table hockey games with them

Then again, there's not really a way to display them without setting them up on a game table.  I don't know, to me it's a rather strange piece to collect.

Gordie Howe's Shin Pads

4 of 5

Now in general there is never something bad to own that once belonged to Gordie Howe. How can you go wrong with Mr. Hockey?

Still, shin pads? I can understand a stick, gloves, skates, a game worn jersey but, shin pads?

Take a look at the sale page right here. Just a couple of items beneath these you can also own Bobby Hull's old shin pads.

Definitely one of the stranger collectibles.

Hockey Decanter

5 of 5

This one appeals to not only the hockey lover out there, but the wine loving hockey lover!

According to the sales page, the cork is the only thing that needs replacing out of this bad boy.

As much as I love wine and as much as I love hockey, I don't think that there is a way that I would serve any of my friends a drink out of this.

It's a collectible, I suppose, but a bit of a stretch for pretty much any hockey lover.
