Fantasy Football Sleepers: Top 4 Sleepers on the Detroit Lions Roster

The Detroit Lions look set for a big fantasy season this year in the NFL...

If the second of those two statements is the one that excited you more, then look no further Detroit Lions fans.

If you want to win your league and do it with some of your favorite stars, then take a look at these five guys for your fantasy team.

Matthew Stafford

1 of 4

So yeah, you're thinking right about now that I may as well have put Calvin Johnson here if I was going to be that obvious, but stick with me!

The reason Stafford is a sleeper in my eyes is because when he has been on the field and healthy he has looked like an elite player. With the weapons that are now in Detroit, a healthy Stafford for 16 games a year could approach the Michael Vick and Aaron Rodgers level of production.

The fact is Calvin Johnson is that good and he has a great understanding with Nate Burleson. With Brandon Pettigrew also available, there is no reason that Stafford can't push on and not just be a serviceable fantasy performer but one of the best.

Jerome Harrison

2 of 4

Jerome Harrison may not have won the rushing job in Detroit just yet. However, he is the best candidate to replace Mikel Leshoure.

It's only two seasons since Harrison rushed for the third-highest single-game total in NFL history and he hasn't really had a fair chance to show off since that game.

Nate Burleson

3 of 4

Similarly to Matthew Stafford, Nate Burleson has the potential to surpass his expectations which are already pretty high this year.

He has the potential to put up huge numbers across from Calvin Johnson as defenses look to take him out of the game. Stafford will be better equipped to put the ball in the right areas for Burleson than Shaun Hill was despite his impressive play.

Detroit Lions Defense

4 of 4

The thing about the Lions defense is that it is being celebrated as hugely improved. However, as far as fantasy football, it might not just be improved—it might be one of the very very best.

If the defensive line fills up the sack sheets and Stephen Tulloch revitalizes the linebacking corps, the front seven could be top five in the whole league while the secondary is vastly improved since last season.

It is a defense that will give up points but with the potential for turnovers and sacks, it could rack up the fantasy points.
