8 Fantasy Football Team Names Guaranteed to Give You a Winning Edge

John RozumJun 7, 2018

If you noticed the two players in the picture above, all they do is win. And the teams they play for have that winning edge because of them.

Getting that swag in your fantasy football team name does matter, regardless of the players you draft. A clever name helps—you'll feel the synergy as it builds throughout the season.

All that said, here are eight fantasy football team names to help you brainstorm for the upcoming season and give you that winning edge.

We begin and end with references to the cult classic film, The Big Lebowski.

Dude, Let's Go Bowlen

1 of 8

Pat Bowlen is the owner of the Denver Broncos, and all they do in The Big Lebowski is go bowlin'.

It's a win-win.

Romo Wasn't Built in a Day

2 of 8

Rome wasn't built in a day, so let's cut Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo some slack.

Thanks to team owner Jerry Jones, Big D has been rebuilding since the late-'90s.

Revis and Butt-head

3 of 8

If you know who these two guys are, thank them for this fantasy football pun.

For those that are unaware, Beavis and Butt-head were two '90s icons on MTV before it went all reality on everyone.

Somewhere of the Dwayne Bowe

4 of 8

His name rhymes with the word "rainbow" and it works perfectly.

Expect Matt Cassel to toss some TDs somewhere over the Dwayne Bowe this season.

Ice, Ice Brady

5 of 8

If you don't like "Ice, Ice, Baby" by Vanilla Ice, then keep moving.

It's a great song, paired with an even better QB.

What's not to like?

It's on Like Ndamukong

6 of 8

This one is for anyone who's ever played any of the Super Mario Bros. video games.

Donkey Kong has been a part of the Mario saga since the beginning, and the term "It's on like Donkey Kong" will stand the test of time.

As will the modified version with Ndamukong Suh.

What'choo Talkin’ 'Bout, Hillis?

7 of 8

This one's for the late Gary Coleman—and this fantasy name couldn't be any more clever.

Add in the fact that Peyton Hillis is on the cover of Madden '12, and it really doesn't get any better.

The Big Janikowski

8 of 8

I said we would end with The Big Lebowski, and here it is.

Sebastian Janikowski is a 6' 2", 250-pound kicker for the Oakland Raiders.

He's a beast, has the franchise tag (thanks Al Davis) and could play LB if they needed it.

Metaphorically, figuratively and literally speaking, The Big Janikowski works in all phases.

It's not very often a fantasy name works thrice as many times as the norm.
