WWE Raw Preview: More Questions Than Answers Going into Tonight
Last week, WWE promised us an “epic” edition of Monday Night Raw. While the show wasn’t exactly epic, it was a good night for WWE’s flagship show. There were many questions going into last week, but this week there are more.
There doesn’t seem to be anything confirmed for Raw, but these are the questions I have going into tonight.
What’s next for John Morrison?

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Since making his return, John Morrison has won only two matches, one of which was a six-man tag match at SummerSlam. He won a great match against R-Truth a few weeks ago, but came up short last week in a great match with WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio.
So what’s next for the King of Parkour? It’s hard to say. He seems to be getting punished for Melina’s past actions, but maybe these losses are leading to something bigger.
Will we see him challenge for the United States Title, or find a partner for the new tag division? We could very well see another John in the WWE Title picture. No matter what’s next, Morrison will most likely be in a match tonight, and hopefully it’ll be the start of something good.
Will the Divas of Doom finally strike?
For the past few weeks, Beth Phoenix and Natalya have been playing games with Divas Champion Kelly Kelly. Whether it was Kelly winning a match, or Eve doing so, the Divas of Doom have simply stood at the top of the ramp clapping.
Will tonight be the night they strike on the Barbie dolls of the WWE or do they have something bigger planned? With Night of Champions three weeks away, I’d imagine we’ll find out who’ll challenge for Kelly’s title before they actually strike.
The Guerrero Family fell flat, but will Vickie try again?
Last week, Vickie Guerrero tried to follow in the footsteps of Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart and start her own “family” of wrestlers. She already has United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, but last week she gave Jack Swagger a tryout.
Ziggler, though, wanted nothing to do with it as he distracted Swagger long enough to cost him the victory over Alex Riley.
Will Swagger get another chance or will Guerrero move onto another superstar? Is this all leading to an eventual Dolph Ziggler face turn? Time will tell I suppose.
Are Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne the start of a new tag-team division?
WWE has finally taken the titles off of David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty, a team that made the division look weaker than it already was. Much to the delight of fans, the belts now belong to the newly formed team of Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne.
There have been rumors that Triple H wants to rejuvenate the tag division and this could be the first step in doing so.
I’d imagine Otunga and McGillicutty will get their rematch tonight or at Night of Champions, but there’s no way their getting them back. Since the former champions are no real challenge for the titles, who will step up to the plate after, or at, Night of Champions? If they are start of a rejuvenation, will new teams be coming in to challenge the new champions?
Are we prepared for an Awesome Truth?
It seems like The Miz and R-Truth are officially on the same page. Last week, they took out Santino Marella and talked of conspiracies and taking matters into their own hands.
If there was ever a perfect pairing in the WWE it’s these two superstars. Their mic work alone every week gets me excited for what they’re going to do next. That brings us to the question: what will they do next?
Will they raise hell in the main event scene or are they the next legit challengers for the Tag Titles? No matter what they do, an Awesome Truth is coming whether we're ready or not.
Is Triple H losing control of the asylum?
It was revealed last week that the now infamous text message came from Triple H’s phone, but not from the Game himself. He vowed to find out who sent it. We may know who it was, though.
Later in the night, John Laurinaitis told Triple H that Kevin Nash was in a car accident and was sent to a nearby hospital. The Game took off leaving Laurinaitis in control. Nash would show up during the main event and cost CM Punk his match against John Cena.
This certainly adds fuel to the fire. Was it Laurinaitis that sent the text at SummerSlam? It looks like he did, but maybe WWE wants us to think that it was him when it’s actually someone we’ll never expect.
Either way, Triple H is losing control. How will that factor into tonight’s show?
How will John Cena react to the attack from Alberto Del Rio?
Last week John Cena beat CM Punk for the right to face Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Title at Night of Champions. Del Rio then attacked Cena post-match.
How will Cena react? I think it will be something like this: “You attacked me from behind, you’re a coward, you’re going down at Night of Champions.” Obviously it won’t be that short. He’ll add his usual hustle, loyalty, respect lines in there as well.
That seems to be the usual John Cena promo after an attack, and since he’s already gone off on Del Rio about winning the title the way he did, it wouldn’t surprise me to see if he used that formula.
Surprise me, though, WWE. Don’t have Cena complain for 15 minutes to open Raw, have them both in a tag match to give us a taste of Night of Champions.
There are many questions to be answered tonight. Will they all be answered? I doubt it. Very rarely have WWE answered all the questions they created the week before.
Some of the situations will be solved, but others will be made into bigger questions. Last week was a good show, and I think WWE will follow up with another one tonight.
