South Carolina Football: Steve Spurrier's Legendary Visor Is Still Respected
ESPN's recent analysis and interviews with Pac-12 coaches reveals that Steve Spurrier still has a bit of his legendary magic left.
"The Visor" remains an iconic college football image, and these last few years at South Carolina have done nothing to tarnish it, and have in fact made the visor even more relevant.
Hell, he's doing what no one else could do at South Carolina: have some form of winning on a consistent basis.
Coaches across the nation still love "The Head Ball Coach," even though some fans despise him.
Lane Kiffin from USC said, "I was always intrigued by [Steve Spurrier], watching him at Florida. You know, just the way he ran the offense and his confidence and his visor.”
Kiffin and Spurrier had it out once or twice as coaches in the SEC, but both respect one another.
Kyle Whittingham from Utah also had this to say regarding hats: “If the sun is a factor on our sidelines, I prefer a hat. It is my belief that a visor should only be worn by ‘The Head Ball Coach.’”
Awesome.
While this is a pointless bit of news, it is nice to know that coaches out there still revere "The Head Ball Coach" and his ever-present visor.
It's GREAT to be a Gamecock!
Five more days till kickoff!
