Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Is it really “Go Time” when we seem to have a general manager that is afraid of drafting big-name college players, and is trying to prove he can win with smaller school stars? Last time I checked, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Clay Matthews all played at big-name colleges.
Is it really “Go Time” when our defense got a makeover with new starters and reserves, and we are the only team in the preseason to not register a quarterback sack? Can’t anyone get to the passer?
Is it really “Go Time” when our star running back has spoken openly in the offseason of wanting to play in Los Angeles if the situation was right? Yes, he also said he was happy to be playing in Jacksonville, but the thought of that puts up a red flag to some of us fans.
Is it really “Go Time” when we have two quarterbacks with different skill sets and there is no clear-cut starter? Yes, head coach Jack Del Rio announced David Garrard would be the starter in the season opener, but you can tell rookie Blaine Gabbert may be better at moving the ball down the field.
Is it really “Go Time” when players named Jacob Cutrera and Dontrelle Inman are looking better on the field than Rashean Mathis, Daryl Smith or Mike Thomas? Free agents are important, but the starters on this team need to play like starters.
Is it really “Go Time” when there are anywhere from 7,000 to 10,000 tickets available for each home game, including two Monday night contests? How can you ask the community to support a team that looks sluggish and mediocre?
Is it really “Go Time” when the owner gives the head coach a mandate to win now or he will be replaced after the season, only to have the owner retract some of this statement? We either need to right the ship, or find a new captain!
Is it really “Go Time” when our offensive line needs help and we are relying on a rookie to start at guard, free agents to fill gaps and an aging center who may not be back after this season? Maurice Jones-Drew needs a solid line to open holes for him.
Is it really “Go Time” when we drafted players like Eugene Monroe, Reggie Nelson and Derrick Harvey when we could have had players like Michael Crabtree, Jon Beason and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie?
