TNA News: Jeff Hardy Returns, Leaves More Questions Than Answers (video)

Gone Baby GoneJun 7, 2018

For those of you not interested in seeing video from an upcoming Impact, please turn away.

Now that you have been warned, read on.

At the beginning of the week, Jeff Hardy teased that he was indeed returning to TNA.

In fact, he mentioned in one of his tweets (read below) that his return would be happening at this week's Impact taping.

"

@jeffhardybrand: Ok it's official...time to go back2work!I will be in Huntsville,AL this Thursday with ImpactWrestling!!!!

"

For myself and many wrestling fans, there was a lot of confusion as to why Hardy would return during the same week that his brother, Matt, seemingly melted down. Not to mention, why Jeff would be coming back when there has been no confirmation of him undergoing any type of rehab.

However, the answer may be more simple than we think.  TNA is taking Impact on the road and is trying to build an audience as they attempt to break out of the Impact Zone.

According to wrestleheat.com, leading up to that taping, they had only sold about 500 tickets for a stadium that seats thousands. Now they can't tape in front of a small audience for their flagship show, so they had to bring in some star power.

Please note, I am merely speculating here, as it seems pretty obvious that they are trying to stop the sinking ship.

Now, after watching the clip, it appears Hardy will be returning as a face. As he not only came out to his original TNA music "Modest," he also begged the fans and TNA for forgiveness.

It should also be noted that the apparent storyline for his return is that "the Network" brought him back. I guess we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Hardy. Just don't be surprised if he is somehow inserted into the Bound For Glory main event.

I personally am a fan of TNA's product, I just wish they would stop revisiting mistakes from the past and get things going with their current roster. Yes, when sober, Jeff Hardy is an amazing athlete. However, he continues to disappoint, and he is getting older.

So those high-flying moves won't be around for much longer. Essentially, TNA has a ton of talent with or without the Hardys. Since Jeff's departure, several wrestlers have emerged as stars, and could easily help the company get to the next level.

Although, I fear with Jeff Hardy's return, these wrestlers will be like the ones before them and get pushed to the wayside.
