2011 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings: ESPN vs. Yahoo ADP Values
While Ben Roethlisberger plays on a team that has a long history for running the football, it’s clear that while he’s in the prime of his career, Pittsburgh will continue to put the football in the air. Why not, as the Steelers have done a good job of providing Roethlisberger with solid depth at receiver in recent years. While Roethlisberger isn’t one of the elite quarterbacks in fantasy football, he’s still a respectable top ten option to draft.
Looking at the ADP’s below as listed by ESPN and Yahoo, my main problem with Roethlisberger is that he’s trending as an early sixth-round pick, and that is a little high for my liking. Sure, this player can be a starter for your team, but if you’re not targeting one of the elite seven quarterbacks, it’s best that you drop down and draft a quarterback as late as the ninth or tenth round.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Not having one of the elite quarterbacks, even in 12 team leagues, means that you need to have one of the strongest teams in the league at running back, wide receiver and an elite tight end.
Instead of reaching for quarterbacks like Roethlisberger or Matt Schaub, you’re better off waiting for an option like Matthew Stafford and Eli Manning in the middle rounds of your draft. Both quarterbacks are capable of putting up the same numbers that Shaub and Roethlisberger will produce, and you can get them later in your draft.
ESPN vs. Yahoo ADP Trends
As we had into the final weeks of the preseason, I thought it would be interesting to compare ESPN and Yahoo’s current ADP trends. Listed below, I have the top 20 quarterbacks as listed on ESPN with Yahoo’s ADP values listed next to them so you can get an idea of where these players are going from one site to the next. Most of the time the top quarterbacks tend to be going in the early rounds, but you will have some fluctuation as whom may be going in the top five on one site compared to the other.
