Arsenal FC: Why Park Chu Young Is an Inspired Signing
Park Chu Young has (as of now) been linked with Arsenal FC and is now having a medical at the North London Club. Arsenal fans worldwide seem to condemn this signing to use as evidence in a case for Arsene Wenger's growing lunacy. However, a look at Park Chu Young's career seems to suggest otherwise.
In the summer, he was linked with Liverpool amid rumours of the Korean moving to Paris Saint Germain, to Bayern Munich and to Tottenham Hotspur. Chu Young is a good player and is recognized all over Europe, as these rumors seem to suggest.
Chu Young was one of the players to watch for the 2006 and the 2010 World Cups for South Korea. The South Korea side looked like this for four years, as Park Ji Sung was the playmaker and Park Chu Young the striker.

Wenger has recently implemented a counter-attack system at Arsenal in the last few games, where Arsenal have not dominated as much possession as they are normally used to. The pace of Walcott, Gervinho and the wing back Jenkinson has been key to the Arsenal attack.
Park Chu Young will be the natural reversion to a 4-4-2 in the Invincibles mould. Wenger can then play the 4-4-2 system with Sing and Wilshere going deep and a striker dropping off Park Chu Young. Chu Young has the ability and the pace to make such a formation work, so I think Wenger will allow him to do it.
Chu Young has all the versatility and the style of a striker in the Thierry Henry mould. His touch is deft and accurate, his pace is blistering and his acceleration and runs are timed to perfection. He is also a great finisher, having done so from many angles and with many different strike partners. He has flair as well, which he can use to beat players and score that way, if they are defending deep. His best attribute, however, is his heading.
