Lesnar-Couture: What Happens Afterwards?

As much as I hate seeing a thousand articles with the same main topic, I have to get this one in before the big fight. Don't worry, this isn't a preview. This is an article expressing my views of what I believe will happen with the fans as a result of this match.

We we'll start off with what will happen if Brock wins.

Brock Lesnar is your new UFC Heavyweight champion. All of the Brock huggers rejoice and rub it into the face of all of the doubters. Even if it was a close split decision win, they all laugh about how Brock tormented Randy for five rounds and all the judges are insane.

Everybody gloats about how they picked Brock, even the ones that changed their pick last second in favor of "Captain America." For the next month, we all have to continuously hear about how Brock is going to destroy the winner of Nog/Mir. Then the ultimate sin is committed. Fedor is called out!!!!

Randy fans reminisce about the good times, and most take the loss with a grain of salt knowing that age eventually catches up with everyone. All in attendance rise for the fallen hero, and those at home snuggled up next to some popcorn watching the show on their big screen with pals, play a slow-motion montage through their heads.

Randy takes the loss well, and shows true sportsmanship, congratulating the new champ, all the while mentally rising off of his throne, allowing for the new king to oversee his kingdom.

All the true MMA fans silently weep, as we all realize what we have just witnessed.  Our hero, the man every person, man, woman, or child should look up to, has finally come to the end of his long road.

The winner, and........... STILL UFC Heavyweight champion of the world, Randy "The Natural" Couture. Deep down, regardless of who they picked, every true MMA fan is happy to hear those words.

All who picked the ageless wonder celebrate their hero's victory. All of the Brock fans however, dispute the outcome in any way they can.

Don't mind them, their is nothing they can say to change the fact that Randy is still atop the Heavyweight mountain.

It's a decision victory, both men raise their arms and walk around the octagon. Then they meet in the center and exchange words. Randy tells Brock that he gave it a hell of a go, and that he is the future of this division. Brock thanks Randy for accepting the fight and giving him the opportunity, and while all of this is happening, everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting for the announcements.

Moments after Randy is announced the winner, the MGM Grand Garden Arena goes insane. Joe Rogan rushes into the octagon but the crowd is so loud that Joe is not heard. He waits for the crowd to quiet down, but he is in for a long wait.

All the Randy fans at home are ecstatic and on the verge of tears. Even though they chose Randy to win, and they guaranteed victory to their friends and the casinos in Vegas, they still can't believe the 45-year-old pulled it off.

Randy is excited, but as a true champion, knows his work is not yet done. He can't wait to get back in the octagon and take on the winner of Nog/Mir, and all the fans feel the same.

Even with Randy's next opponent narrowed down to two possible fighters, the image of Fedor reappears in the head of every fan. We thought that dream match was all but out of the minds of MMA fans, but it was only hiding, waiting for the perfect moment to pop back up, and what better moment than now.

That's what is going to happen after this fight. I for one am sick of waiting and already shaking with anticipation. It's like my Christmas.
