NBA Sleepers: Week Four

Dan BentonNov 14, 2008

In some fantasy leagues, you can change your basketball lineup on a daily basis to ensure you have the most favorable match-ups. But in the majority of leagues, you have to set your team for the entire week and hope that none of your players get hurt or perform poorly.

Next week there are several players you should consider starting because they have the potential to have a huge week.  Here are five players I think will help you get the win:

Shawn Marion, MIA

Sure, Marion has been sitting with a broken nose, but he aches to get back on the court. His desire to play will help him perform well against the guys he faces this week.

His first and most difficult test comes in his first game of the week when Miami travels to Washington. There, he will play against Caron Butler.

Washington is struggling this year and Butler has gotten off to a slow start, but that doesn't mean Marion will have an easy time against him.

He will probably struggle a little bit in this game because it will be his first game back after his injury, he will be on the road, and Butler is a good defender. That does not mean that Marion won't get his numbers, because he will.  He wants to show the team that he's still there and he's ready to go.

After Washington, Miami returns home to host Toronto and Indiana where Marion will face Jamario Moon and Danny Granger, respectively.

Moon is in his second year in the NBA, while Marion has nine years of experience. Marion will use the Washington game as his warm-up for getting back into the swing of playing and then he will be able to use his veteran smarts to get around Moon and get to the basket.

Danny Granger has struggled over the past few years, so I view this as a favorable match up for Marion as well.

Remember, Marion has a healthy Dwayne Wade to pass him the ball and to pass the ball to.  The Heat are a different team when Wade is on the court, somehow everyone miraculously plays better.  Expect no less from Marion as he returns to action this week.
