NASCAR: The Base Wants the Old Days Back

Yes, let's give those nostalgic NASCAR fans their own series, one that may give them a chance to race their own cars.

Let's get started, if you want to race.

The first thing you need to do is go to a "buy here, pay here" used-car lot, purchase a good, late model, used car—the "buy here, pay here" lot is just in case you have no credit. If you do have an excellent credit history, you may be able to buy a new car, which would make you an elite team.

Also, you need to look for a one-ton crew cab, got to get that car to the race track and look cool doing it—if it is a little rusty its okay , just paint the rusty parts black , it will make it look newer, if you are lucky enough to get a sponsor you may want to look for a 21-foot Coleman trailer, you know the one with the rusted bent tv antenna on top ,you should be able to get one of those cheap.

Now you're ready to go racing , Bugeeddii, bugeediii, well you know, whatever he says.

Honestly, I respect the sentiment of the so-called NASCAR hardcore fans, they all believe it was great racing in the old days, and they may be right, but those days are gone and they won't be back. Folks, the pet rock and the hula hoop will be back before the old NASCAR days—maybe even a dinosaur or two.

I feel bad for the base, I just don't know what can be done to give them the old days.

I personally like seeing  drivers come into a race in their Lear jets or in their fancy cars, I also like looking at their hot wives and girlfriends and boyfriends (woo, Nelly did I say boyfriends? Hey , who am I to judge ..lol ) wearing designer clothes and cool glasses, also I like the different personalities in the sport and the fact they can do an interview without embarrassing themselves, this all adds to the entertainment value of the event .

Look if you like the old days, good for you , go and enjoy them, but for me, I like air conditioning , indoor plumbing , wall to wall carpeting , my 61-inch hi-def. tv, I like drinking a cold beer rather than uncork a weird looking bottle of moonshine, and most of all I like these new race cars and I love the soap opera that NASCAR is.

This is entertainment , it's nothing more than that , I'm so sad I'll have to wait till 2009 for the next episode of As the Road Turns Left; you just got to love it.
