Fantasy Football Game of the Week–Week 11

Ryan HallamNov 13, 2008

This week’s scorefest should be a great rematch between the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans. We all remember the way the Texans had the first game won before QB Sage Rosenfels tried his best Wright Brothers impression and took flight.

After that disaster led to a score, Rosenfels then had another one knocked from his hands and the Colts stole victory from the jaws of defeat. Will this game be a replay of that classic?

Outside of last week’s four INT disaster, Rosenfels has been a better than decent replacement for Matt Schaub.

Last season in nine games he was able to throw 15 scoring strikes, and this year he has four TDs in three games. The Colts pass defense has been among the league’s best, but it seems that they have had some tough games against the Texans.

I can see Rosenfels throwing for 250 yards and two scores.

Rookie Steve Slaton has been a great fantasy find for those of you who were quick on the waiver wire as he has over 500 yards and five scores, although he hasn’t had a TD in two weeks. Slaton did run for over 90 yards and ran for two scores in the first game against the Colts, so look for him to be able to find plenty of running room again against Indianapolis.

Andre Johnson was his usual amazing self in that game catching nine passes for 131 yards and a score, expect some similar results in Week 11. Tight end Owen Daniels brought in five passes for 47 yards, he is having a great season and should have an impact on this game.

For Indy, you already know the names and seeing that the Texans defense is nowhere near the top of the league in any category, all Colts are great plays this week. True, Peyton Manning has been a disappointment this year, but he did throw for 247 yards and two scores in the first meeting between these two teams.

He does have seven touchdown passes in the last three weeks, so it looks like Peyton is rounding into shape. Look for a better game in the second meeting for Manning.

Joseph Addai has been sputtering since his return from injury, but things are looking up for him this week as he has a rushing touchdown in three straight games against Houston. He ran for 71 yards the first game, and I smell his first 100 yard game of the season in Week 11.

Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark were the receivers of choice in that first meeting of the year, but it could be any of the Indy receivers to have a great game. Anthony Gonzalez is becoming more consistent as the season goes on, and Marvin Harrison has had a few good games as well. If you own any Colts receiver, get him in your starting lineup. It is tough to predict who will have the big game, but I would expect two of them to pass the 75-yard barrier.
