WWE: 10 Things to Expect Before Cena/Rock at Wrestlemania 28
The WWE continued to surprise us and set the bar high for itself, when the night after WrestleMania 27 they set the main event for next March a year in advance, with the announcement of Cena vs. Rock.
Big times followed with the retirement of Edge, and the character turns Christian and R-Truth.
Heading towards SummerSlam, the man who caught the attention of many was CM Punk. He relieved himself of Nexus, had a huge dispute over his contract, and received a championship push.
Last but not least (and possibly biggest), the power transition for HHH. When he took over, things changed from the foundation.
With the recent Kevin Nash angle, and Alberto Del Rio's championship push, a lot of changes are to be expected between now and WrestleMania.
Here are a couple things to expect.
1. Cena Will Be WWE Champion and Defend Against Rock.
1 of 10I personally believe this should not go down, but it seems more and more likely as we pass SummerSlam and head towards Survivor Series.
WWE has an opportunity to put another big time match on the card featuring the WWE championship, but I get impression that they like this.
HHH will not have Rock as champion again, unless Rock came back to WWE, and I don't see that happening.
This means Rock has absolutely no chance of beating Cena. (Still time to book Cena with Taker!!)
2. Royal Rumble Winner John Morrison Will Challenge World Champion Randy Orton.
2 of 10For me the Royal Rumble is a gimmie for John Morrison.
I personally believe he should have been pushed to the main event before the Miz, but that is personal opinion and I know I'll have a lot of hate over that.
Morrison is such an 'HBK 2.0' it's amazing, and he has all the pedigree needed to carry a show as champion.
Many have said Melina was his Achilles heel, and now that she is gone his time is NOW!!
Orton always works great at all shows, and I expect him to be in the World Championship picture until WrestleMania and beyond.
3. Edge Will Be Back to Work in WWE in Some Capacity.
3 of 10For me, the best spot for him is Raw GM. HHH taking over as CEO has almost erased all memory of the anonymous Raw GM.
Edge can can work great as boss to Cena and Del Rio, and has charisma very similar to HHH.
If not that, put him on full time commentary on Smackdown with Cole and Booker T.
4. Wade Barrett Will Be World Heavyweight Champion.
4 of 10hope all of you see this coming, but last time a MIB winner said they were waiting until WrestleMania to cash in they took it from him (MR. KENNEDY!! KENNEDY!).
Plus HHH will no way have Daniel Bryan main event WrestleMania, the current feud between him and Wade Barrett will culminate in what I expect to be a one-on-one ladder match, in which Barrett will take the briefcase and work with Orton.
5. Either Trish Stratus or Lita temporarily returns
5 of 10These ladies were a perfect mix of Diva, beauty and wrestling.
Today in WWE it is a battle between what has featured in the current feud between Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly.
I'm not saying they will return for long, but they will be used as a bridge until the beauties get better at wrestling, or the wrestling Divas get in touch with their sexy side.
Michelle McCool also could help in this area, and I expect her back soon, as well as her husband the Undertaker. He'll be preparing for his final defense of the streak at WrestleMania.
Layla El returning from injury can help also. I personally believe WWE should pursue Velvet Sky from Impact Wrestling, she for me is the total package as a diva, gorgeous, mic skills, and wrestling.
Melina going was terrible, as she was one of the best WWE had as far as being the total package Diva.
6. Chris Jericho Will Be Back as a Babyface
6 of 10His recent tweets show some bad blood for CM Punk, and personally I believe HHH sees a lot of potential in this feud.
Jericho is a great babyface, and people love him as such. When he returned last time and Interrupted Randy Orton's passing of the torch in Ft Lauderdale, it was electric.
7. Stone Cold Will Wrestle Again
7 of 10I personally believe he should be in line to challenge Undertaker's streak, but even if not, the Tough Enough host is in such amazing shape HHH is wasting a ton of opportunity here.
This would depend on Stone Cold's willingness, but one cannot imagine him turning down the chance to shut some young big mouths like Miz or Alberto Del Rio.
BTW, Tough Enough winner, Andy Levine will not be on WWE shows anytime soon.
8. Kane and Big Show Return and Wipe out Mark Henry.
8 of 10I mean, how many people don't see this coming??
9. WWE Will Make Offers to Impact Wrestling Employees Matt Morgan and AJ Styles.
9 of 10Since Mr McMahon was in power, WWE has tried to get AJ Styles ever since Jeff Jarrett found him.
AJ is a big Evan Bourne, and believe me if Evan Bourne were big as AJ Styles he would be a heavyweight champion.
I'm not saying AJ will make the jump, though, as he is an original, and the guy I think will lead Impact to the big time.
Matt Morgan is more likely to be back in WWE for me, Hulk Hogan is badly wasting big chances to build on a believable guy. HHH would push Morgan to the big time.
10. Dolph Ziggler Will Not Be World Champion with Vickie Guererro Alongside Him.
10 of 10This man is shooting himself in the foot by associating with Vickie Guererro.
She has been played miserably ever since the death of her late husband Eddie, and he would turn in his grave at her actions.
As for Dolph, the former member of the Spirit Squad is one of the best young commodities in WWE in my estimation. The only bad thing for him is Vickie Guererro.
He has the look, and size, of a world champion and his mic skills are even better than his wrestling. He is going through some rocky places with her currently, so let us hope he dumps her in time for Elimination Chamber.
If he doesn't, WWE could have the next Christian on their hands—a great career competitor, but a guy HHH will never want in championship contention.
