Kansas City Chiefs: 5 Biggest Disappointments Through Preseason Week 2
Every year, there are players that disappoint on each NFL team during the preseason.
The Kansas City Chiefs have had their fair share of disappointments so far during this year's preseason.
Whether it's been third-year man Quinten Lawrence getting beat in coverage, or Jackie Battle rushing his way to a 3.3-yards-per-carry average, there have been some below average performances so far this preseason for the red and gold.
Here are the five most disappointing Chiefs midway through the 2011 preseason.
Wide Receiver Chandler Williams
1 of 5His performance in the first week of the preseason against the Bucs couldn't have gone any worse.
He returned two punts for -1 yards, including one punt that he muffed.
The former seventh-round pick by the Vikings needed to do something good in these first weeks.
Instead, he will likely be on his way out of KC if he doesn't do something good quickly.
Cornerback Quinten Lawrence
2 of 5Lawrence is arguably been the biggest disappointment on the Chiefs' roster this preseason.
He has been burned repeatedly in the passing game, giving up reception after reception to opposing wideouts.
He can't seem to get a handle on his new position with the team, and time is running out for the former McNeese State star to remain on the KC roster.
If he doesn't pick it up soon, he could be on of the first to go when the Chiefs cut down their roster in the next week.
Wide Receiver Jerehme Urban
3 of 5Urban has done nothing so far in the first two weeks of this preseason.
He has zero catches and has hardly seen the ball thrown his way in his limited action on the field.
The Chiefs are expecting much more out of the former Arizona Cardinal, considering that he may be forced into the starting role when regular season begins on September 11th, thanks to a thumb injury to rookie wideout Jonathan Baldwin.
Things need to change for Urban and this Kansas City receiving corps immediately.
Wide Receiver Jonathan Baldwin
4 of 5Baldwin only has one catch in one preseason game so far, but he is on this list for another reason.
It's never a good idea to get into it with a 12-year veteran, especially not with team captain Thomas Jones.
Baldwin's attitude has been very poor over the last couple of weeks, causing him to have terrible performances in practices. And now he has added a thumb injury on top of that.
This wasn't exactly the start that the Chiefs' brass had in mind when they drafted the former University of Pittsburgh receiver back in April.
Running Back Jackie Battle
5 of 5Chiefs running back Jackie Battle has had a preseason to forget through the first two weeks.
The former University of Houston star has picked up just 69 rushing yards on 21 carries, and had an embarrassing fumble during the first game against Tampa Bay.
It's clear that Kansas City is giving Battle a shot at making the roster, but he has returned the favor with a lackluster performance so far.
You have to think that Battle will be looking for a new home if he can't step it up soon.
