Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers and 5 Standouts from Preseason Week 2

Adam SpencerJun 7, 2018

The Green Bay Packers had a great game on Friday night against the Arizona Cardinals.

In the 28-20 victory, several players excelled, giving the team plenty of hope for a Super Bowl repeat.

The offense was clicking and the defense put together enough stops to hold off the Cardinals.

If they can keep this momentum going into Week 3 of the preseason, there will be some tough calls to make in terms of roster spots.

Let's take a look at five players who had great games in Preseason Week 2.

5. Brandian Ross, CB

1 of 5

Ross looked good in some of his limited action on Friday night.

The rookie corner out of Youngstown State intercepted a Richard Bartel pass.

He’ll have to work his butt off to get much playing time this season, but it was a good sign from a young player.

And, if Charles Woodson (pictured here), Tramon Williams or Sam Shields get hurt, Ross will have some experience working in his favor.

4. Chastin West, WR

2 of 5

West, a rookie from Fresno State, had a huge game on Friday night.

He had five catches for 134 yards, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. His 97-yard touchdown catch from Matt Flynn was the score that put the Packers ahead for good in the 28-20 victory.

West is another player that won’t get much playing time unless there is an injury, but it’s good to know the depth chart is full of talent.

3. Graham Harrell, QB

3 of 5

Harrell had a pretty good bounce-back game after a horrible effort in the first preseason game.

He went 7-for-9 for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Overall, it was a really terrific night for all three Green Bay quarterbacks. Let’s take a look at the other two now…

2. Matt Flynn, QB

4 of 5

Flynn had another strong effort, going 5-for-6 for 141 yards and the game-winning touchdown pass.

He’s developing into a very solid backup quarterback.

The Packers are in good shape if Aaron Rodgers’ concussion problems come back.

1. Aaron Rodgers, QB

5 of 5

Rodgers is ready for the season to start.

In yet another solid tune-up, the Super Bowl MVP went 9-for-12 for 97 yards and a touchdown to Greg Jennings.

Jennings and Rodgers are working really well together this preseason. They’ll be a very exciting duo if they carry that momentum into the regular season.
