Jeff ChaseJun 7, 2018

Mardy Fish has been on a tear lately.

With the ability he has been showing over the current ATP year, I believe Mardy Fish's time has come to win a Grand Slam. He has been going deeper into events with age and has shown the talent to take on the best of the best.

Here are three reasons why Mardy Fish is going to take home a Grand Slam trophy this year.

So, who is going to represent the United States at this year's US Open?

James Blake?

The J Block isn't enough.

Sam Querrey?

Nope.

Who is that?

Nope, Mardy Fish will be the man to represent his country in its biggest tournament. Fish, the eighth-ranked player in the world, is going to ride the momentum of being the best of his countrymen.

So far during the US Open Series, Fish has been on a tear.

He started out with winning Atlanta. Next, he went to the finals in Los Angeles, losing a three-setter in the finals. Then in Canada he lost to Novak Djokovic in the finals in three sets. Most recently, he lost in the semis to Andy Murray after taking out Rafael Nadal in the quarters.

Carrying a 36-17 record on the year, Mardy Fish has a chance to turn some heads.

At 29 years old, Fish is starting to reach the end of the line.

Since he is currently playing the best tennis of his career, he is due to grab a championship.

It will be a tough route for Fish as he will likely have to go through Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, or Murray.

The big four stand in his way, but, with recent victories over Nadal and close matches with Djokovic and Murray, Fish may finally pose a threat.
