WWE: Is Vickie Guerrero Bringing Back the Classic Heel Manager in Wrestling?
Professional wrestling used to be more than the relationships between opponents. Back in the glory days of the business, managers brought much of the entertainment to the show.
Many managers were as unique as the superstars they represented. It was often the managers that helped the superstars get noticed and almost became a part of the superstars' gimmicks.
Classic managers like Jimmy Hart, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and "Classy" Freddie Blassie were some of the most recognizable stars of their times, despite rarely taking part in any actual matches. Their influence, whether it impacted matches or not, was second to none.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Earlier this year, Tyson Kidd showed the importance of having a manager, only to end up as a solo competitor. Despite all of that, one of the better wrestling managers in recent memory is able to be seen nearly every Monday night on RAW.
Vickie Guerrero has helped multiple superstars get noticed and has struck gold with nearly every superstar she was aligned with. Edge won multiple world championships with Vickie beside him. Her place in La Familia led to Chavo Guerrero becoming ECW champion and the team of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins winning tag team gold.
After her ties with Edge were finally severed, Vickie stood alongside Eric Escobar, a champion in developmental FCW. Escobar did not work out and was released about as quickly as he came.
Her time with Dolph Ziggler has been a lot more successful. Ziggler has won the Intercontinental, United States and World Heavyweight Championships with Vickie at his side. Now, Ziggler is one of the top heels on RAW with Vickie being a big part of that. That is why the prospect of having Vickie manage multiple men at once is an exciting idea.
Vickie still does not have a TitanTron or entrance music and doesn't really need any. All that needs to be heard are the words, "Excuse me," from her mouth in order to invoke a deafening negative reaction from the live crowd.
Vickie is actually so hated by most fans that she seldom makes it through a promo without having to pause and let the boos die down. Vickie has now turned into a part of Ziggler's current identity, which is exactly what Jack Swagger is hoping to have wear off on him as well.
The All-American American is not enjoying much success since winning a world championship nearly 18 months ago. The boost in Swagger's comeback could rely upon his alliance with Vickie Guerrero. Guerrero could join some of the all-time great managers by representing multiple superstars at once. I am immediately reminded of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and his Heenan Family.
The most impressive night for the Heenan Family was WrestleMania V. Of the 14 matches at the event, Heenan managed superstars in four of them and even took part in his own match. That is a possibility within reason for Vickie.
Imagine seeing Ziggler and Swagger in separate matches at the next WrestleMania and having Vickie in the corner for both men. This is all assuming that Vickie doesn't add to her alliances even more, obtaining an entire fleet of superstars on her side. If anyone is capable of pulling it off, it is Vickie Guerrero.
Now that the Divas division and tag team wrestling both seem to be improving in quality, wrestling managers could become the next project to improve. Jerry "The King" Lawler even used the word "faction" when describing Vickie's new relationship with Swagger. It wouldn't be entirely out of the question to believe that Vickie could be the first of a new breed of wrestling managers.
