Hurricane Allegations: For All You Haters out There
The sports world is still buzzing over the allegations made by ex-booster, Nevin Shapiro, against the Miami Hurricanes.
The allegations are just that, allegations.
I am not saying that what Shapiro has stated was nothing but lies, but I do believe he has stretched the truth.
Show me a picture of Shapiro handing Sean Spence $500 cash or a picture of Ray Ray Armstrong getting a $1,000 handed to him.
You are absolutely right, you can't show me those pictures because they do not exist.
All I see is receipts with no Hurricanes names on them.
I tell you what, dig into my wallet and you will see a receipt where I purchased "gas" and a "food item."
Now prove to me after seeing that receipt that it was jerky.
The pictures of Shapiro are exactly that, pictures that a 32 to 42-year-old man hanging out with 18 to 22-year-old kids.
That is the only thing creepy about that.
I have read so many articles about what is next for the Hurricanes.
How many players will be suspended, how many coaches were involved, and will Miami get the death penalty.
No one actually knows what will happen, except maybe the NCAA, but everyone has thrown Miami under the bus.
Many college football fans want to see Miami get the death penalty, not because of what they did, but because it is Miami.
For years Miami has been labeled as the thug of the college football world, even though the past 10 years, Miami has a total of two player arrests while Florida has had over 35.
UNC had over 15 players suspended last year which its their coach to be fired and its athletic director to resign, yet there was no huge news article.
Ohio State had five players get suspended for five games this year due to players selling memorabilia, prompting the firing of their coach and their best player to forgo his senior year to avoid further problems.
Yet when Miami, which has 12-15 current players under investigation, allegedly does something wrong, all the sudden it's a huge problem.
I know many of you will say it deals with 10 years and 72 players, but do you honestly think Miami is the only college to have that staggering amount of players involved?
Now I am not saying this justifies Miami's actions, if they are true, but it does prove one thing that all Hurricane fans have been dealing with for years.
The media hates Miami.
Maybe it's because of Miami's dominance over the last 30 years that has prompted everyone to hate the program.
Yes, Miami has more national championships in the last 37 years than any other college.
Maybe it's the fact that schools are jealous that Miami produces some of the best football players in the NFL,.
Yes, Miami had 10 players voted to the Pro Bowl last year, the team with the second most had six.
No matter what the reasons are, you haters can hate all you want, because when all this stuff is over, expect Miami to be back on top.
Where they have been for the last 37 years.
