WWE: Top 5 Wrestlers Waiting for the Undertaker to Return
We all know Undertaker is coming back to wrestle for WWE.
Everyone knows we have not seen the last of The Dead Man.
The questions surrounding his return are a plenty. Who does he face? When does he comeback? Why would he return and where?
What is his mission this time around?
Tons of options to dive into, so let's get right to it. I present to you the Top 5 Undertaker Return Opponents!
5. CM Punk
1 of 6This one is a very big long shot and probably shouldn't even be on this list. However, Punk has taken on every aspect of the WWE lately. What is more WWE than Undertaker?
What is more WWE than Undertaker and his Wrestle Mania undefeated streak?
They have feuded before, and Taker all but crushed Punk (as he should have), but Punk has a new lease on life, so the option is there.
4. Kane
2 of 6Personally, I am done seeing Kane and Taker feud.
Their last big hurrah was in 2010, and it was a great feud for Kane. After years of putting Taker over, Kane was made to look like a beast beating The Dead Man at three straight PPV shows.
The story is done. I only include this because you never know with WWE, and they seem to always go back to this feud when nothing else is out there.
Taker trusts Kane in the ring, so if he is limited, there would be no problems. Also, both think highly of the other, so no issues would arise in future matches.
Odds of happening? Not good, but possible. Kane did bury him alive less than a year ago...
3. Wade
3 of 6Did everyone forget about this?
Maybe. Who knows?
If Wade could ever use a spark, a feud with Taker could do the trick. Wade is on a little bit of a roll right now, so setting up a showdown with Undertaker at Survivor Series in MSG seems possible.
All of this hinges on Taker being healthy.
2. Mark Henry
4 of 6Watch that video!
If you are still not a fan of Mark Henry, watch that video, and you will see yet another reason why I am riding his bandwagon right now.
Henry is being pushed very seriously these days, whether anyone wants to accept it or not.
Having Taker return in the coming months and stop the destruction of Henry just might work.
Their matches would be slow, but with Taker's age and Henry's limitations, that is the best option.
Honorable Mentions: "Fantasy Booking" Options
5 of 6This is for all the armchair bookers out there, who try to avoid logic and just make their own federation run on a daily basis...
Foley—He is returning. No doubts there, but a match with Taker? I will pass.
Jericho—He will return at some point, but I am not sure Taker really needs to face him anymore, especially with the WM streak on the line.
Del Rio—If any guy deserves a big Mania moment, it is Del Rio. Sadly, I just don't think the promos would work leading up to a match.
Sheamus—If he were still a heel, I would say yes, but not anymore. This one had potential written all over it.
Cody/Ted—I have seen this rumor floating around for 2 years now. Let me save you the trouble—it is not going to happen.
Stick with realistic opponents, which leads me to my #1.
1. Triple H
6 of 6For anyone who has yet to see their full Wrestle Mania 27 match, it is posted above.
Beginning to end.
Yes, WWE is building a Punk/Triple H rivalry, but I still sense a big Triple H vs. Undertaker rematch, and likely happening next spring in Miami.
If WWE really wanted to complete the 5 years storyline (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) they would have a Streak vs. Career stipulation added, but that is getting into "fantasy land" a little too much for my liking.
Point of the matter is this: Triple H said he would be waiting for Undertaker's return, and if Taker waits a full year to return, there is no other opponent to face.
There can only be one.
