Delaware Racetrack: Grade 3 Endine
Handicapping a race with so much speed can often be hard, and the Grade 3 Endine at Delaware seems to be no exception.
Class E Holiday is four-for-five at Delaware and has three wins in six career starts at six furlongs. This three-year-old filly is one of the few horses that seems to prefer to stalk the lead and does her best running late. This a significant class test, and she loses five pounds from her last race.
Mindy Sue has four lifetime wins at six furlongs, including one at Delaware in 1:10.2. This five-year-old mare has some early speed but will probably not be able to outrun many early. I don't like her chances to win this stakes race.
Love That Dance is 4-1 with Pablo Fragoso and appears very dangerous. Seven wins at six furlongs, including a convincing win in the $125,000 sprint feature on October 23, 2010. This is another speed horse who will have a chance to be on the front early.
Ms. Vanenzza is a nice four-year-old filly who hasn't won since November 30, 2010. She's cutting back in distance from seven furlongs, so her early speed should hold up late.
Sassy City is a great value at 12-1. With four wins in seven starts at six furlongs, this is my second choice in the race. In her last race, she blistered home in 1:09.1 to win by almost two lengths at Monmouth Park.
Ha Ha Tonka is 8-1 and also appears to be a great value. In her last start, this four-year-old filly went wide and still managed to win over the main track at Saratoga. With good early speed, this lightly raced horse appears to be very dangerous.
Bronx City Girl is the 3-1 morning line favorite, but I'm not sold on her chances. This Martin Wolfson trained horse might be the most talented but only has five wins in 22 career starts. Her last win was on May 27, 2010, which was 10 races ago.
My pick is Tiz Rising, who is listed at 8-1. I absolutely love this horse in this spot. Her only loss was a turf race on June 30, but she rebounded with a great performance on July 15 when she won by nearly two lengths in 1:09.3.
Cosmo Girl is trained by Thomas Proctor, and this is her first start for him since being claimed from Joe Petalino on July 9th. In her last two races, this speedster has been good early but failed to finish strong.
Eve Giselle must be used in any exotic wagering. Undefeated in both her starts at Delaware, this Tim Ritchey trained horse appears capable of winning, despite the bad post position. I like her August 13 work of 46.1 for four furlongs.
Because the prices of the horses I like are so good, I feel required to key Tiz Rising, Sassy City and Eve Giselle on top in my partial triple with all three for second and third with Ha Ha Tonka and Love That Dance.
