Bengals vs. Jets: TV Schedule, Radio, Online Live Streaming Info and Game Time

Gabe ZaldivarJun 3, 2018

The Cincinnati Bengals head to East Rutherford to take on the new York Jets. The Bengals still have a great deal of sorting out to do, especially with Andy Dalton and the quarterback position. The Jets would be happy to make it out of this game alive.

After their run in with the Houston Texans, the Jets enter the second week of the preseason battered. Expect Rex Ryan to give a breather to a good amount of the vets in this affair.

That doesn't mean we will be without dramatic storylines. Expect Plaxico Burress to draw a great deal of attention as he returns to the field after his prison stint.

The Bengals will be hoping that rookie quarterback Andy Dalton can mature five years in the span of a week. Dalton showed some rough patches despite being accurate in his first call as a starter against the Lions.

Let's delve deeper into this upcoming clash.

Bengals' Key Addition

The Bengals were relatively quiet in the free-agency market. They bolstered their defense with Nate Clements, but he will hardly be the reason the win or lose.

AJ Green could be the star receiver that this team craves after Chad Ochocinco leaves the confines. He left last week a little beaten up, but he should be fine to go against the Jets.

Jets' Key Addition

This team went out and got creative in the offseason. They are taking on Aaron Maybin in the hopes that he can finally live up to expectations.

The biggest addition will be the looming target in the red zone, Plaxico Burress. The feast of famine question begins on Sunday.

Bengals' Biggest Loss

I am not sure who will miss Chad Ochocinco more: the club or its fans. The star receiver was as prolific as he was polarizing. It will be hard to fill his production rate, but even harder to find a character that enlivens the field the way he did.

Jets' Biggest Loss

This loss may only matter in the early goings of the season, but Mark Sanchez will miss his buddy Braylon Edwards. The two had a great rapport on the field, and the former No. 2 receiver will be missed if Plaxico Burress falters.

What They're Saying

The Wall Street Journal posted a story that involved former a Rutgers player who is now paralyzed, Eric LeGrand, visiting the Jets camp. For once, the Super Bowl journey was exposed for its true importance as the club was said to have been "inspired."

Yahoo Sports reports there is another Palmer that may be disgruntled with recent activities of team owner Mike Brown. Carson Palmer's brother, Jordan, is getting the run around as the team's third-string quarterback.

Bengals' Player To Watch

With Carson Palmer continuing to be shunned by the team that he would rather die than play for, Andy Dalton continues to be the favorite to start at quarterback.

He was green in Week 1, and I am interested to see if there is any improvement a week later. The season may very well rest on his arm.

Jets' Player To Watch

You will hear his name in the pregame presentation. He will be spotlighted on every play that he is involved in. Plaxico Burress will be suiting up for the first time in years, and it's a big deal. At least, that is what we will all be forced fed into believing.

Matchup To Watch

The matchup with biggest implications is Andy Dalton against the stout Jets defense. Dalton looked ragged last week against the Lions and was unsure in the pocket. His inability to move the offense will only get more intense this week.

He is set for the biggest test of his early career. The Bengals will have a barometer of future success in this game Sunday.

Bengals' Position Battle

I hate to beat a dead horse, but it is there for the beating. Either Andy Dalton or Bruce Gradkowski will attempt to keep this team from sinking as soon the season starts.

The Bengals are forced into a distasteful choice between a rookie and a second-rate quarterback. The season will be lost if neither can step up.

Jets' Position Battle

The New York Jets' biggest fear is losing quarterback Mark Sanchez. The journey to keep him safe from injury continues on Sunday in the battle between offensive linemen Matt Slauson and Vladimir Ducasse.

One of those will win the left guard position, and the Bengals game is crucial to finding out which.

Key Storyline

These are two teams on very different paths. The Bengals will be scrambling to figure out just where this team is going. There is no certainty to their offense. The QB and receiver positions are still getting worked out. Cincinnati is teetering on disaster, and the guys that choose to step up now will determine how far the Bengals soar.

For the Jets, it is all about getting prime reps without hurting anymore players. This is once again a team that is contending for a Super Bowl. There is no need to have a replay of last week when players left battered and bruised.

Prediction: Jets, 24-17
