TNA: Beer Money Lost the Tag Titles, It's Time to Change Impact Wrestling

David LevinJun 7, 2018

Maybe the best things in TNA wrestling are yet to come. And addition by subtraction is the way to achieve that.

Last night’s program left me a little empty inside, wanting more and expecting to at least be engaged by some of the matches and commentary.

For the first time in several months, I was lost and wanted to change the channel.

Beer Money lost the world tag team titles to Mexican/America with the help of Karen Jarrett (who needs to stay the hell away from wrestling). In doing so, it may have finally allowed Fortune to disband honorably and allow each member to go its separate ways.

We have not seen Kazarian wrestle as of late and we have not seen any real “stable” action from the group since the PPV event and the idea they are a group should mean they all join forces on television each week.

Immortal tries to do this most weeks on the program. And for once, I think there is a reason both factions should disappear.

If Bobby Roode is going to make a serious run at the TNA World Title with AJ Styles and even James Storm, who I am not sure has a place in TNA with his tag team partner, then five men going their own way is best and probably best for Impact Wrestling.

This severely damages the tag team division, and I have spoken of how I am a huge proponent of tag teams, but TNA is in another state of disarray and needs more of an injection of youth, excitement and character assassination to revamp a brand that was moving forward.

Now, it seems to be moving backward again.

Ric Flair challenged Sting, which led to a backstage altercation with Gunner and nothing materialized. The knockouts match was bland and the Gauntlet match was a little more gymnastics than wrestling.

And the Bound for Glory segments were average, but the Samoa Joe angle is getting better.

We still have no true movement in Sting/Hogan.

The only thing I was excited about was Crimson proving he is the future of the company when he called out Kurt Angle.

Jerry Lynn and RVD could have some legs, but it needs to move as does Daniels/Styles. SOMETHING PLEASE!

Only problem is, there needs to be a company for him to be the future of and right now, it looks like things are beginning to slide again.

Creative, and not just Vince Russo, needs to establish boundary lines again in stories and rid itself of more “players” in the business. Robbie E can go for sure and while I know Jeff Jarrett really has no place in the storylines, he needs to decide to wrestle or go away.

Hogan, Flair and yes in time, Sting need to depart as well as Scott Steiner.

Maybe they need to strip every one of their titles and start over.

Who knows, maybe I can be wowed again next week.
